    Strictly Speaking Wake?

I know basically the SAN (v-drive) is ~1,000 lbs heavier than the SN. And
I know the SAN is about 1 foot longer.
Is the bottom of the hull otherwise the same?

Is this what makes such a big difference in the wake at slalom speeds? Of course empty ballast.

And would the Air Nautique (DD) have a reduced wake at slalom speeds? Significantly reduced?

What model years are you talking about? I'll assume you are talking about the 95-06 SAN. If so that is the same hull as the 93-99 Air/Sport(or maybe a little later I can never remember when the 206 replaced the 2nd gen Sport). The only difference is engine placement so the wake is little flatter on the Sport/Air but certainly similar at slalom speeds. The Ski Nautique TSC1 and TSC2 hulls are much different than the SAN/Sport/Air hulls. If you look at the bottom of one there are all sorts of crazy channels to help keep the wake small on those boats. There are many difference besides length and width. The 206 will have a much better slalom wake than the SAN/Sport/AIR and still be very boardable. There is some great brochure information in the reference section of CCF.

The newest version of these boats have a very different hull design. The Sport 200 V is built on the Ski Nautique 200 hull and is AWSA rated to pull RC slalom and trick. This hull has chimes and steps for tracking. The 210 has a flat hull, actually more efficient on the water. The 210 is only a foot longer but it's a game of inches, deeper, wider, taller gunnels and 1,000 lbs heavier. It has more seating and a bigger platform.

all that said, in my opinion having both these boats at 20 mph no ballast two people in the boat the 210 has a smaller wake. Both boats ballasted and loaded? 210 just does it all better.
