2002 SANTE Tower Down

New to the boat. Went to lay the tower down to clear garage door and promply broke the light off the top when it hit first. Did not know it was there. How do you lay the tower down without damaging anything? Is there a brace missing to support the tower when down?

When down, the top bar goes all the way to point of the bow. The nav light on the top of the tower hit the nav light on the bow. Tower light lost. I put a deflated tube under the tower, but the light would still hit if not already broken off.

In 2002, the all-around white light was NOT mounted to the tower at the factory. It was either a plug-in pole that mounted on the back of the boat, or the power light, that rises like a power antenna in a car.

It sounds like you likely have an aftermarket tower, and definitely have an aftermarket light.

I have no idea if it is factory. Painted/powdered silver, has bimini mounted underneath. Just bought is Saturday, so I am learning at this point.

To expand on what Jeff said, that tower is either mounted WAY forward or it is an aftermarket tower. The factory tower doesn't reach all the way to the bow when folded. The tow-point reaches to about the middle of the bow seating area.

Yep, definitely not a factory tower. Kinda looks like an old BOSS tower.

Of course, this begs the question.... Why was the original replaced?
