    Trailer question

What do you recommend for brackish water as far as a trailer? Galvanized or aluminum? Also what are the cost differences and what would am I looking to spend? I'm looking at a 230 wo a trailer so I need something that will work. Im not opposed to a regular trailer if someone has one for sale.
    Thanks

Brackish has salt in it.... Period. If you are having to purchase a trailer, I would go ahead with an aluminum one... Just my .02.
I haven't owned one in quite some time, but one aluminum trailer I had actually floated, so I had to have weight added to the axle to keep it from floating... Just had another old solid axle welded to the rear axle of the tandem....

Galvanized or aluminum should both hold up well, especially if they get washed down after use. Don't bother trying to get by with a steel trailer, the salt will eat it up quickly.

If trailer/tow weight is critical...probably aluminum is much lighter.

Thanks.....yeah if the boat doesn't come with a trailer I'm gonna do the aluminum or most likely the galvanized route. The trailer will be sitting out in the Florida rain and humidity since the boat will be a on lift most of the time. In my experience my steel trailer all rotted out in a matter of years out in the elements.

IMHO, Aluminum looks better to, galvanized cannot really be refinished or cleaned up if you have the time/desire. The galvanized trailer seemed to the sturdiest of all the trailers I have owned as well and if it going to be sitting if might be a matter of finding the best value.
