trailer question

While I don't yet have a Nautique but I think it is my next step in boat ownership. However my question is I just had an Aluminum trailer built for my 2006 yamaha sx230HO that once the boat is sold might save to put under a 210 231 g21 or g23. Does it look like the last cross member is far enough forward slash the bunk are tall enough to clear the prop and rudder?

I would not recommend doing this in any way. That trailer would need so much modification in order for an inboard boat to fit properly that it would probably cost less to buy the proper trailer to begin with. Also, it doesn't appear to be built sturdy enough for a boat weighing over 5,000 pounds dry (like the G-series).

Is there any good aluminum trailers out there that work for these boats? I currently boat mostly in salt water and have found that aluminum is worth it's money in longevity.

Call the trailer manufacturer. I assume you are looking for a costal edition boat if you are a salt dog. We have a friend in town that bought a super sport that is on an aluminum trailer. They build those trailers with so many applications in mind that they probably have some other style mounting points and bunk ideas so it may work. The G trailers are pretty complex in the way the bunks run though. I am guessing like those guys said that that may not be rated for that much weight judging by the size of the outer I beams. Chris's super sport trailer has quite a bit larger I beams.

If that's a Sport Trac your going to use for a tow vehicle, keep the tow weight in mind also. I believe that with the v-8 option you can tow around 5,000lbs. total.

thank you for all the responses I guess I will just try to recoup some of the cost of the trailer as an upgrade when I sell the Yamaha. Thank you for the concern but that Sport Trac is no longer my tow vehicle. I have since upgraded to a 2010 f-250. Got that diesel power now so I don't think I have any concerns there
