Im on the fence on decals.

Im sorry i keep bringing this up bit i am very close to purchasing some decals. (Tax refund) yeah im a teacher and im poor and i dont wanna mess this up.

I did some photoshop work today.

Im leaning towards getting the drip mold "super air nautique". I talked to zach@n3 and he said he could probably do the drip mold with red in the middle like this.

Here is my boat with black lettering, i couldn't make the red in the middle look right so i left it black.

Ok so heres the problem. I am not totally sold on the drip mold. I think with the red in the middle it will look sick but not sure.

    These boats are my inspiration.

I also like the tribal decal. Yeah i know it isnt popular with everybody but look at this!

So heres the real question. "Super air nautique" in red or black. Or go with tribal. It is worth noting that tribal is 120$ cheaper.

    Thanks

Styles always change, but think resell value. I'd go with the drip mold.

Drip mold in black. I think the red might blend in too much with the red part of the gelcoat.

          No tribal IMO.

Are you planning on putting the letter drip mold directly on the line where red meets black on your boat?

Highly reccomend you center it along the very top of the red gel like was done on the 210? you listed right under your boat. So the top of the drip model letters are 1/8" under the black gel line. splitting the line will look odd like you have it done on your mock up.

It was an idea because the dumb line doesnt go straight across.

Probably gonna go on the red when its all said and done.

Photoshop it into the red section of your boat, It will look totally different (better) and will also make your mind up.

Also, I don't mean to hijack, but are the decals on the two black boats simply the outer section installed but not the inner?
Id love to make mine http://www.howqua.net/modules/xoopsg...4270.sized.jpg look like that.
But i fear there is silver behind the outer in those boats where mine appears to be transparent.

Those decals look nice, at least on a newer boat. That said, personally, I dont understand the desire to put newer decals on an older boat. First, they dont look quite right with the classic gel stripes. Second, whats wrong with the period correct ones? Every time I see new decals on an older boat I assume the owner is trying to make the boat into something its not; wishing they had something newer or different... rather than appreciating the boat for what it is. A late 90's Super Sport/Super Air is an awesome boat in its own right! I think these decals would look sweet:

I am replacing the tribal on my 06 210. I think it looks great, but with numerous years of sun beating down on it, and a few scratches on it from the dock, it is time to replace it.

I'm considering removing all the decals except the chromax SAN. If it's too plain I'll cry

Honestly I don't know if the "SAN" is going to look right no matter the colors given the way your gel colors divide the side of the hull. If you plan to install it similar to the PS you did above, either color with be on a field of the same color making it harder to see and a contrasting color making it easier to see. Both of those together may take away for the overall look. Now if you went black lettering on the red hull or red lettering on the black hull they would contrast well and standout, but that would bring other issues of sizing or install height to the waterline.

The tribal graphic was need high on my personal list of favorite just because the whole tribal detail kind of "dates" the graphic and not in a classic way IMHO. Another route would be to go with just the plain "AIR" decal like this...

                          http://www.nautiqueparts.com/decalai...2000-2003.aspx

If you're set on using the "SAN" why not in silver cloud so it stands out on both color fields?

How about the Tribal, then maybe the chrome lettering from a 2005 SAN 210 closer to the transom in the black?
