Surf tab system being developed for classic SAN SSN 95-06

I'm currently working on my own system, posted my progress so far in the diy section. I currently have screw in handles but have just ordered some index plungers to make it easier. Dont really want to be screwing and unscrewing under water.

Finished up the prototype and finally got to do a couple test runs. Seems like the sweet spot for the weight is 60-65% to the surf side and 35-40% on the opposite side. They lengthen the wave dramatically and gives a very clean wave on both sides. I want to do a few more stress tests and talk to my CNC machinist before I can get a final price on them. I was only able to get 2 quick pics since it started to rain a lot harder and get windy out there. 40* air temps and 35-40* water is no fun. Pics were taken at identical speeds and weights, one with tab deployed and one without. Exact speed is unknown since my perfect pass is off by a couple MPH, but both are within .1 mph of each other. But anyways here they are.

Ballast set up (estimates):
750 surf side
400 opposite
75 in lead in the ski locker
150 in the bow
2 people (325 lbs total)
1/8th tank of gas

Was able to get an identical wave for the opposite side with out much effort. Still a lot more fine tuning to do to get the best wave for both sides but the tabs help immensely. I am hoping to get the boat out Monday for some fully weighted tests and get a few more people in the boat to see what she is really capable of now.

Thanks, they are NSS style with manual Indexing pins. No tools required to switch sides. This will be up for sale shortly.

The boat is in the hoist right now... This is why I am only getting wave shots. My one concern with these is that it is not true 50-50 weight distribution for the rear. The side opposite of your prop rotation will need closer to 70-30 to be crystal clean. Opinions are welcome here, do you guys absolutely want 50-50 tab or more so something to shape and lengthen the wave? I can say for sure with as much weight as I could and people I in the boat I could never get the port side wave to clean up.

Ballast is a the same as before with 1/2 tank of gas and 2 people(275 lbs total). Forecast looks like 55 and rain for the next week so I cant comment on the ride of the wave

Price is really going to be based on my CNC costs and TIG welding costs. Right now I am thinking around the $400 mark for the pair.

Mine opinion: 400 is super fair.
This is my opinion and man am I ignorant of all the R&D, but personally I would rather pay MORE and wait for the product that you know is perfected. I would think the least amount of weight required and as clean as possible (can it really be perfect with prop rotation?) would be paramount next to size and push.
Either way, you are making all our older boats that much more valuable and if/when its time...saleable.

Thanks for the reply. I have a good idea what needs to be changed with the prototype. So i am going to try some adjustments on them and some different designed sliders and i will get back to everyone as soon as possible.

Nice work, I'm excited to see more. It'd be great to be able to finish wake boarding and switch to surfing without having to to move a ton of ballast all around. Being able to run level would be great but even just less of a lean would very nice. That is definitely the longest and cleanest I have ever seen the port side wave on these boats so you are certainly on the right track.

I think i just need to extend the plates out further from the hull. I cant wait to get the usual crew of 5-6 out there to see how she looks fully loaded.

I'm interested in them. Not having An exact 50/50 weight distribution isn't a big deal to me. As long as i can keep the weight in the rear lockers and not have sacs in the main cabin, and a little less lean, and i would be happy
