Just pulled the boat out and winterized it... Plates should be off this week and hopefully dropped off to the cnc machinest in the next week. They worked great all summer long with no issues. As soon as i get a final copy produced i will have some pics posted.

Finally made it back on the forums... Sorry for not updating sooner but life has been insanely busy. I am bailing on the surf tab project and actually going with a newer boat since there is an opportunity that I cant pass up. Next time i head down to the water I will snap some pics of the surfdesign and show how they work so maybe someone else can tweak and make these tabs a little better. Again sorry for the delay and hope that someone can better the design.

So here are a couple quick pics... I could not fully extend the plates because it's sitting on the trailer. Basically its a 3 layer system of aluminum plates. The plate closest to the transom has threaded inserts flush mounted through the backside and is through bolted through the platform brackets. The inserts are smooth on the outside and act as the alignment sliders for the the middle plate. The middle plate floats in between the the inner and outer plate. It has long parellel slots cut into it at an angle that slides them out and drops them down at the same time. The outer most plate acts as the reinforcement for the slide. Now for the sliding mechanism itself is very easy. A stainless spring loaded indexing pin that allows you to lift, slide, and lock with one hand all in one motion. Let me know if you guys have any more questions.
First pic shows the locking mechanism and different levels of extension. 2nd pic is fully retracted. 3rd pic shows as far as i could go out because of the trailer, but if you look at the indexing pin its not retracted through the 2nd hole yet.Last edited by orzech; 08-09-2016, 09:04 PM.

Yes it replaces the spacer. The aluminum tabs are tig welded on the cover plate and the slider plate. A hole is then drilled for the threaded indexing pin to have a jam nut on each side of the plate to lock it in place and give it the right depth for the pin to lift and lock.Last edited by orzech; 08-09-2016, 10:33 PM.
