Which cover for G21.

My dealer wants to know what cover I would like for my G21, the two factory choices are
the Tower up cover or the Tower down cover. Seems like having the tower down cover would
be a pain.

I would pick the tower down cover without hesitation. I had the factory cover for my G23 last year that could be used both ways. I think I used it with the tower up one time. The rest of the time I used it with the tower down. It keeps the bugs off, and reduces wind resistance a bit too.

Assuming you got the factory bimini, it folds down into the bow, allowing the cover to go on without detaching the bimini, even with the tower down.

The picture below shows my old boat with the bimini folded into the bow, tower down and cover on.

If you got the factory Bimini, I would for sure get the tower down model . If you got the z5 rack, you will need to figure out where you are going to put that thing if you take it down.

I have the G23 and have to leave the tower up some times when I don't have a place to put the Bimini. Fortunately for me I have the old cover and can go either way.

I think you can lay the Z5 over the engine area and cover the boat. I am pretty sure that's what our local Nautique rep does.

Not getting the Z5 and getting an aftermarket Bimini. Just emailed the dealer to see if the tower can fold down without removing the Bimini. I don't use the Bimini very often around here but its a must at Lake Powell.

I think you can lay the Z5 over the engine area and cover the boat. I am pretty sure that's what our local Nautique rep does.

I have tried all different ways and can't get it to fit any where I am not worried about it wearing on the vinyl or gel coat. Back of the truck is the best for me, unless that is full.

Also the z5 arms mounted on the tower don't allow the tower to drop all they way. The arms hit the seat before the tower bottoms out. You have to remove those also.

Your decision will really depend on whether you plan to trailer the boat with the cover on. I believe the tower down cover is for storage only and not designed to be towed with it on. The tower up cover is design to be towed.

Not true. I towed all over the place with the tower down last year and it worked great.
