Tri axle vs dual axle trailer for G23?

Any thoughts in whether or not the tri axle trailer is needed for the G23? Would be getting a Boat Mate.

I was trying to find out what the axle weights were on line for a boat mate but could not. I imagine braking might be better with the extra set of brakes. Turning might be effected too.

Are there any benefits besides looking great? I need some help from someone smarter than me.

A tri axle pulls much better, less bounce from trailer and more weight on the axles with less on the tounge. It is not needed but if you are pulling long distances a tri would be recommended.

Personally I think the tandem would be just fine for the G23. Like said above, unless long distance and often. The g25 I would go with triples... A tandem with brakes on both axles will stop fine. Triples will def be a little harder on tires in turns.

Tri axle is way over kill. Most trailers that are for heavy equipment don't even go to a tri axle set up until their weight reaches over 15000-20000 lbs or so. Tri axles look awesome with a G but are totally un necessary. The triples do have a little more aggressive brakes just because of the fact it has an extra axle with brakes. If it were my money I would stick with a tandem but if you like bling and the biggest and best go with the Tri. The two boats we ordered that way looked completely sick.

it is an extra set of tires to maintain. Just replaced tires on my tandem and while it's nice to have the capacity replacing four vs two was a hit.

For me it'd depend on price. BIG variance there.

It'll help resale some as it adds bling factor. it aides in braking and stability. If you plan to tow with a 1/2t truck it'd help some.... Little better braking and less tongue weight.

I have a twin axle for my G25 and it tows perfectly fine and probably maneuvers better in tight quarters. That plus one less set of tires to take care of. Only need for 3 axles is your ego.

I think if you're towing with a GJC you can squeeze by with a tandem. Anything else better go trips.

                        Kidding. :-)

I think we all have big ego's. It just that the people that tell other people they got big ego's don't admit they do.
