Factory tour on a Saturday?

I bought a Mastercraft a few years ago, and have been on this site less and less. I still am quite the Nautique fan, and possibly looking to replace my X1 in the next few years. Work is sending me to Orlando in a few weeks, and I wanted to visit the factory for a tour.

The only problem is I can only get there on Saturday from the looks of my schedule. (Or possibly Monday before my flight, thats cutting it close though) The web site shows tours only at 10am or 2pm Monday thru Thursday. Would a Saturday even be a possibility? Is it best to call or contact the email on the site (info@nautique.com) or do you guys have a better contact?

As an engineer, I would love a deep dive tour, but I will take what I can get at this point.

Can't do tours on saturdays unfortunately
You could probably pull off an earlier tour on Monday though.

Uh oh! Not another factory tour. Beware of the powerful safety goggles they make you wear. Even when you take them off after the tour, it still feels like your wearing them. =)

I was able to get the tour Monday morning. Very informative, although I was disappointed that they no longer go through the engineering department.

There were a lot of G series boats being built, and I was really trying to find anything unique while wandering around. There was a 230 mold waiting in the gel line that was marked out to have pink metallic gel, I thought it must be an athlete boat. It was also good seeing a closed bow 200 getting completed. Other tid bits? CC still has some old molds lying around, one of which would make core boarders very happy.

I ended the tour down at the test lake, and was able to see a new Byerly G21 on a trailer. There was also a G23 that looked completely beat up. Dock rash on all sides of the hull, bad gouges and semi faded gel, just a sad site. After seeing the Monster and Fox logos on the windshield, I made the assumption it was Bob Soven's previous factory ride. Very sad to see how bad it was after one year of use...

Overall, good tour. Thank you for the help before I went!

That G21 you saw was likely Byerly's personal boat. There is no Byerly edition G21 available to the masses, but SeaDek just put all custom SeaDek on Byerly's personal boat a couple of weeks ago, so it was probably back at the factory for something before he takes it home.

The PN boat was there on Monday too, but it was probably back in the engineering area.

Sorry I have been out of the loop, what are the colors of the new PN boat?

If I would have known it was a 1 of 1 boat, I would have taken more pics of the G21. Attached is the only one I took...

Very cool, I recall seeing a few purple boats not sure if that was one of them. I wish I could have seen them doing the pink metallic gel on that 230, not that I would go with that color but it would be cool to see a one-off or test scheme.

I also wanted to see the old molds, didn't get the opportunity to see those...

Look for that 230, I don't recall how long a boat takes on the line but it was just getting started when I was there.

I don't think thats the case. I am pretty sure Nautique (and every other manufacturer) knows the effects of running into docks on gel coat. It just looked like a boat that was owned by a person how doesn't care much about taking care of it. I am not trying to say Bob should worry about it, if I knew I got a new boat every year and my emphasis was on training I wouldn't spend my time on boat care either.
