I've seen N3 do color matched chromax letters on the side of the 210s and 230s several times. Anyone know how they're doing this? Zach? I'd love to do that to mine to match the redflake.

That would be sick!! It's reallllllyyyyyy hard. You spray it on the paper let it dry then stick duct tape or something of the sort back on it. After you stick the letters to the boat you have to go around the edges with a razor blade to remove it all and make the edges smooth. There is a reason there are only a few boats like that ha. You have to make sure it goes properly too because that frost stuff on the G series boat is well, um, not cheap. What boat is it on? If you really want to I can give you as much insight as possible.Zach@n3boatworks.com

Plastidip is cool because its reversible ha. We use it to demo stuff before we make a decision to powder coat or paint.Zach@n3boatworks.com

So I'm guessing I would need to order a new set of Chromax to do it (since mine is already on the boat, and I doubt I could peel it off, paint it, and re-stick it).
The red metal flake would be awesome, but if I could just get some red that matched, that would be good enough. I'm not sure the plastidip red would match. I've used plastidip before (on the wheels of my truck) - I do like the stuff.
If it's something N3 would be interested in doing for me, please shoot me a PM.Current: 2017 G23

Here is my input. Just talked to John over in gel/paint. The metallic isn't possible (by that I mean cost effectively). The correct metallic is so large it takes about 6 layers of clear to bury the texture. This requires a wetsand between each coat. Red would be completely possible and I can get you a price on that including the new Chromax. The cheapest route may be to source a body shop locally who could tape off the existing letters and save you that cost (Chromax it expensive).Zach@n3boatworks.com

Yeah. If you could get a price to just do it in red (as long as it is the same color red I have now), that's be great!
The body shop idea is good too. I may check on that.Current: 2017 G23

Will do. I have to get with mark (he's off playing in the river ha) so it will probably be Monday or Tuesday by the time I get it all together. Send me an email.Zach@n3boatworks.com

Yeah, be careful on the paint color, Zach. The boat he has (which was the PN boat in 2012) was originally scheduled to have a red tower that was supposed to match the red metal flake gel. They did the tower in fury red, which is not a match for the red metal flake at all. Patriot red didn't work either. We ended up pulling that tower and putting a black one on.I own and operate Silver Cove Marine, which is an inboard boat restoration, service, and sales facility located in Mooresville, North Carolina. That was my next step deciding on color if it would or would not match. Thanks for the info Jeff. With the metal flake there will be a million different colors that may be possible choices. Good thing is we have unlimited choices when it comes to paint VS gel. It will be something that the owner will ultimately make the call on not us.Zach@n3boatworks.com
