    • Current 2005 SV 211, due for upgrade! GS22 or GS24 perhaps? Previous

Nice boat! I am jealous of the deal you got. I bought a 1998 Ski Nautique last year in colors that match my 2005 SV211. When I found the boat I had to have it. Like yours it was pretty dirty and needed a good cleaning. The factory decals for this vintage boat are not terribly expensive (less than $200 each) so I buffed the boat up nicely and added some snazzy new factory decals. I am with you with the tower, it was ugly and a misapplication to the boat. I think I saw that boat when it was for sale and spit up a little when I saw the tower. Like you I have a pole I can put in the boat if we ever want to wakeboard behind it. In truth the pole will be used more to hold wakeboards than to provide a high tow point but it has not been in the boat yet and might not ever go in. I also have a barefoot boom for it and expect to use that much more than the tall pole.

I just picked up my boat from Acme Tops and Tunes in Sacramento. They did a complete new interior, new carpet, and speakers. They did a great job for a fair price. When the neighbor saw the boat he said it looks like new!

Before dropping it off I installed a new Clarion head unit with bluetooth, here is the thread about that: http://www.planetnautique.com/vb3/sh...8-Ski-Nautique

I do enjoy my music and will be installing a light weight subwoofer with an amp for the system run off one battery, and a digital voltmeter stabbed into the power port on the dash so I don't get myself in trouble.

Not sure if you have already bought your speakers but I would probably suggest the Polk db651 speakers if you are running them off deck power. They are pretty efficient, sound good, make decent bass and are extremely light. Not sure you are located but I also have some JBL speakers you can have for free it you want them.

Wow! That is a slick looking boat! It's funny you mention the speakers... I actually bought the db651's yesterday. I saw nothing but good reviews and the price was right. Where in Sacramento are you? I come out that way a few times a year to ski.

That interior came out great. Is that the factory location for the driver speaker or was that modified when the interior was redone?

No the factory speaker is in the foot rest, almost as dumb of a location as the sub under the padded passenger seat... I put it here during the interior upgrade, they added the tab for the speaker.

I live in the bay area (Danville) and work in Sacramento. We ski on the river or on the delta. Family outings are typically done at Lake McClure

Here is a tip to upgrade the stereo for just a few bucks?

                      http://www.amazon.com/050330-Boom-Ro...peaker+baffles

Install these behind the speakers and you will actually experience some midbass. My boat sounded really bad and these brought some bass to the equation.
