    Textured Powder Coat

I 'm planning on getting the tower on my 03 SAN stripped and powder coated blue to match my hull stripe. Ever since the 2014s came out, I've been considering getting a textured powder coat like the new ones. I couldn't make it to any of the boat shows though, and the nearest dealer isn't all that near. Does it look good in person and do you think it would look good on a FCT1? And if anyone has a new one, could you take a good photo of it that I could take to the powdercoat shop?

    Thanks!

Ehh mixed reviews. I think for resale you wont have to worry about someone liking the glossy powder.

Thanks for the info. I was only going to get it if it was definitely better than the glossy finish. This makes finding a place to powdercoat it a bit easier.

Since I'm asking questions about my tower, I'll ask one more. Does anyone know where to get the plugs that close up the holes where the nuts for the board racks go? I have 1 out of 8 left.

I have the textured tower. My 13 was gloss and showed every water spot. From what I was told its a textured paint and not power coat. They said it can be patched if it gets scratched.

You might want to check in with New Dimension Towers. They make a reproduction of that tower and mine came with the 8 holes plugged. Not sure but maybe they would sell you some? Might also want to try McMaster Carr. If you take measurements of your remaining one you can probably match it up with something they carry because they pretty much have everything haha.

              My tower is gloss.

I would opt for the textured tower in a heartbeat to avoid the water spots and would look cleaner with bugs and anything less than a pristine wipe down. The OEM textured tower resembles a gentler less agressive Rhino Liner.

Also, every time we go out I have a pullup contest with my boys...they'd be able to bang another few out without the slippery grip and their smaller hands around the tower bar.
