I would like to plumb into my existing system 2 extra ballast bags and want them to automatically fill and unfil on their own with the stock ballast system. I tried this by putting the bags connected to the overflow tube (at the bottom and then attached again to the overflo going out the boat) which works great for filling but when I close the valves the system slowly unfills over time. Is there a fix for this?

RE: Custom Ballast System for a 210 sante 05
I tried to "Y" at the empty side of the tank and found that the back pressure would just push the water out the overflow vent instead of filling the fat sac. So, I put a garden "Y" connect on the fill line with on/off valves. I usually only have the tank filling but, when I want to fill the sacs, I close oft the tank and only fill the fat sac/s. The other filler hole of the fat sac is plumbed to a pump, wired separately from the stock ballast pump and again garden hose "Y" to the stock overflow line.

RE: Custom Ballast System for a 210 sante 05
On my 211 TE I "T"d into the port fill line right between the thru-hull pickup and the helm controlled shutoff valve. Then i used a separate reversible Jabsco Wakeboard Ballast pump that runs to the 3 sacs(2 in rear, one in center ski locker). It cost $200 for the pump and probably another $150 for 40 ft of 1.25" hose and the valves. It took about 4-6hrs to install, much of the time was spent taking the floor out of the boat to run the line to the center sac. Now that i think about it the "T" was tricky also, I had to put a bushing in to make my 1.25" hose mate to the 5/8" nozzel on the valve. I used the new fly high sacs that dont use waterbed fittings. It fills and empties all 3 sacs (~1200lbs) in about 15 minutes. I put the pump and switch in the starboard storage locker and direct wired it to the battery with an inline fuse. I originally tried running through the boats existing wiring but the circuit couldnt handle that big pump and kept popping breakers. I took some pictures of the system and i need to do a write up on it.-Jon

Jonfo,
I would really love to see that. How did you get a 400 pound bag to fit in the locker under the walk trou with a tank already in there?Life is Short, Live it!

The storage locker is big on the 211. Actuall its long so you need to put in a sac that is longer and narrower than a standard sac.-Jon

Yea, I have a SV-211 team. I have the v-drive 400 pound fat sacs but the locker on the walkthru side wont hold it with the tank in there. What kind of bag do you have in that side.Life is Short, Live it!

I am using the fly high v-drive sacs, the new ones made of raft material. I can't fill it completely, but the storage area in there is quite wide so that sac spreads out in there nicely.-Jon

RE: Custom Ballast System for a 210 sante 05
Laptom,
The 211 Team does have a center tank that you can see in the ski locker but there is still plenty of room for a large sac in there. That is when my wife isn't heading out with us and I don't have to put the EZ Up canopy in the ski locker instead......
