I'm not sure I am real clear on the tube thing. Do you have any photos?

Please check out this thread for info on how to prevent collapsing your hard tanks:

I guess I'm dumber than most but after reading that thread I'm still not real clear on the 1/4" tube. Does it run all the way through the bag or just enough to let the bag breath when it being sucked dry?

Yes it runs through the bag. It runs from the fill inlet hole of the bag through to the vent hole. It's tied off to each fitting so it stays in place. It's purpose is to keep the bag from sucking totally flat which cuts off the ventilation for the tank. Hope that makes sense.

Gottcha. The reason for tying it off is to keep it in place because you put it in the active drain and fill line.

Exactly. Make sure that you make the tube long enough so that when the bag expands with water it doesn't pull the tube free.

Could you just add a in line non return check valve backwards in one of the extra holes on the sack? This way it would allow more air into the bag. Just install it right about the fill hole. Just a thought

I don't believe that would do it. What happens is the bag collapses on itself and that's what kills the ventilation. Somebody floated an idea out there to add a vacuum relief valve to the tank but I'm not sure if anyone ever found one that would work well enough to not allow air to enter the system.

That´s the one available from Flyhigh. It works great and still leaves room for vests. You fill/drain stock with one push and then teh extra with a second one.
