Age old question 210 vs vlx

Just sold my 2011 Moomba outback v
It was our first boat. We surf and board most of the time. We do salom ski once in a while.
More important than that we are looking for something reliable. We are 300 miles from any wakeboat dealer?
    any thoughts.

We just bought our second Nautique and it's a 210 with NSS. Can't imagine we will ever own a different make if boat. Three summers in the last one and it was never once in the shop for anything other than scheduled maintenance. Never left us stranded on the water either.

IMO they are both high quality boats. I don't have brand goggles and looked long and hard at both models before deciding on a 210 (Although I was comparing 2007-2009 models). Do either boats have the surf system? If nether have it the 210 will out surf the vlx, if they both have it, you're good to go. Both wakeboard wakes are very comparable in size but not so much shape, the vlx is mellow and wide, the 210 is sharp and steep.

you really need to somehow get into both boats and drive and ride them to see which one suits you best. For me the build quality and fit and finish was high on my list. The reversible seat, the fact every opening seat base/back rest/locker is on gas struts and not just thrown in on the 210 was a big tick for me.

I love my 210 and I never want to part with it, however I'm certain I wouldn't have been disappointed with a vlx.

I also think you can find a better deal in a 210 then that if you are open to the boat having a few hours on it. Just bought one with 18 hours and it was listed at $79,900 and of course I did not pay list price.

That is a lot of white. I like the interior though. If it was me I would just have the blue one for sale on this site shipped to me. Year older though.

Is 82000 cad way high for that boat? I am in Canada,so if I go to Minniapolis I have to pay 10% extra because our dollar just tanked

Being this is a Nautique forum of course I have to say the 210. With NSS it's a no brainer. Yes Malibu is nice and I actually love the look of the Malibu vlx. Very nice lines, but I don't so much like the tower. In my opinion all else being equal the Bu boat should be 5-10k cheaper than the Nautique.

I also disagree with a post above in that the 210 wake is anything but narrow and steep? Where in the world does that come from? It's actually about average width and has a nice transition with just enough lip to give u nice pop without throwing u of balance.

Also I know first hand that the Nautique factory will work directly with their customers in the event that they have trouble or it's inconvenient for them to get to a dealer.

Ours is a team similar to that one but silver flake instead of green. It has two sets of tower speakers, a four and five channel amp and and no heater. It's probably still in Buxton Marine's website for reference. I know he just sold a boat to a buyer in Canada so he definitely does pre-owned deals out of country.

                          Both are terrific boats.

saying the 210 would destroy the VLX surfing is 100% false. There is a guy over on the Malibu forum who has prob one of the best surf waves anyone has seen from his 350 VLX. Rivals what I can do on my 550 G23.

i think the 210 is a slightly higher quality boat. And the 210 23mph wake is favored by almost everyone.

also, most importantly dealer support. We know for a fact that your Canadian Malibu dealers will refuse you warranty and service. Warranty does not transfer north I the border... If you buy a USA boat and have it shipped up there.

i haven't heard and CAN Nautique dealers doing that.

i can tell you for certain I would buy from Buxton and work with them long distance in a heartbeat. They are that good. Talk to Andrew in sales or Mike in service. A+ folks who will break their backs to make you happy.
