    Boat covers and tower legs..

My 95 sport I picked up has an awesome custom cover that covers the entire boat including the platform. I added a tower so now I need to have the cover modified for the tower legs. Could you guys post pictures of how your covers are set up? Do they use Velcro, zippers, both? Alsoy cover has a rope to tighten it under the rub rail. If your covers have this how does the rope come apart and attach to get around the legs?

Most use a Velcro closure. The draw string will have to be split in four sections beneath each leg opening. Take it to a canvas or upholstery shop and they will know what to do.

I can rock a sewing machine plenty well. That's why I want to see pictures for ideas. No need to pay someone when I can handle it. Just wanted to get ideas as I've seen a few different designs but no close ups to really be able to tell what's going on. I used Velcro and plastic buckles on my old I/O but had a hard time keeping the Velcro together while trailering. although I try to avoid trailering with the cover on my nautique whenever possible

Unfortunately I can't sew but I am going to be have the same thing done to my cover to fit my new tower legs. I have been checking out different designs and the plastic buckles seem like a good idea. I have also seen metal hooks and loops used. For the velcro this may seem obvious but put the hook (scratchy side) facing out and the loop (soft side) facing in towards the boat. That way if it comes undone or isn't perfectly matched up that the hook side isn't coming in contact with your boat and potentially scratching it. I have seen people use zippers but I think as long as you use a strong velcro it will hold up better.
