I looked at the two boats back in '11 and bought the 210. I liked the wider beam in the Malibu and the seating is a little blingier but what sold me on the Nautique brand was the number of old Nautiques on my lake. They still look great. I planned to own this boat for a long time so I wanted one that would run and look good for a long time. The older Malibu's on our lake look kind of dated with all the tribal stuff etc

For what it's worth I have a very similar boat. Sublime green stripe and interior but a white tower w/white bimini. I get a lot of thumbs up.

I like the green. I think I am going to go with the 210. It is a great deal and hold it's value better.

Now of course I would be in big trouble (with myself) if I didn't write "Buy an X10" or some kind of Mastercraft boat here but please, please, please, don't buy a Malibu over a Nautique. Ever.

I have had both boats, and I actually would look harder at the VLX. I just sold my 09-VLX last year and also helped my friend sell his 09 VLX this month, and there was tremendous interest in the VLX's from the Only Inboards ads I used, and many more calls and emails than my recent 12-210 I sold. Also, the VLX's price held up exceptionally well contrary to belief. The VLX is also much more roomier than the 210. There is a "large" market for 21'ish boats, so I believe you can find a MUCH better deal than what you have gotten on the 13 VLX with Surfgate, if you reaearch further. For what it's worth, from my personal experience & without brand goggles on, I got many more calls/emails on the VLX than on the 210. Again, if you pose this question on the Malibu Forum, you will probably get told the VLX is better than a 210 in all the same areas you have been told here about the 210 (Haha). IMHO both brands are very good, but I think the VLX has more to offer than a 210 in many areas.

After a few years selling boats, and a lifetime on a lake, I've yet to see an older Bu that held up to what I would consider to be my standards. They look great in the showroom, and actually perform quite well (I love the TXi), but they're just not built to the same standards as MC or CC.

You can do transfers on the 210 with NSS.

The VLX has very good surf wake, but mine did not have Surf-gate. We weighted it with ballast (the old fashioned way... LOL). The Surfgate & the NSS on the newer Malibus and Nautiques allow transfers as you can see from both companies propaganda.
Condition on any pre-owned boat is determined by the owner's care and attention, and the way it was used. I also sold boats(for over 10 years) and I have seen "All brands" of preowned boats in horrible condition, even as little as 1-2 years old. Some of the pro's boats that come back in to all the wake boat manufacturers are in terrible condition and have certain stress items that would warrant an opinion of bad workmanship if you just walked up to it and formed your opinion, (including Nautiques). The best dealer representation for each one would be a larger determining factor as mentioned previously, because you will need your dealer with any new boat. Again, you should take the time and test drive both the 210 & VLX and see which one works best for you & your family.

Right now me and the mrs , in our current outback v had to make a block to sit on to see over the window, while surfing. How is the 210. I am 6 ft and she is 5'6" . Will we need to keep our block?
Also what is everyone taking with them that they need so much storage?

The great part about the new surf systems is you evenly weight the boat for surfing and you don't need a ton of it. Makes driving much easier and safer for surfing. With the pop up bolster neither my wife or myself have any problems seeing over the bow.

Going to go with the Nautique 210 2013 (pending the sale of my out outback v next weekend). Is the 343 engine big enough or do I need the 409?
Not sure why people are so hard on the layout. if you take more that 7 people out you will never get a turn

G'day mate first time posting on here. I have a 2013 210 with the 343 and its great we normally have 4-6 people in the crew and have no problems, more then enough room and comfort. You will love it.

Forgot to add about the NSS. Such an awesome product, because we had our boat before it came out we have surfed it both ways. My wife hated driving the boat listed to the point where she wouldn't do it if there were other boats on the dam. Now there is no problem makes life so much easier. I'm 6.1 and the wife is around 5.7 and we don't use the booster seat.

I've got the 343 and the new engine with the catalyst system seems and feels to run better than my 2011 343. I'm of the school "more is better" but I walked into my deal and am going to live with it.
