I will be receiving my new 2014 g21 in a couple of weeks! Does anybody have advice on adding additional ballast for wake surfing. We have been spoiled with a huge wake in our old 230 that was big and long once we added a bunch of ballast. I am hoping i can get the G21 to be as big and sweet! I found that weight in the front makes a big difference but i don't thing the old bow sack will work on the G21. Anyone with any thoughts would be appreciated.

you will probably be the first to add weight to a G21.
But if i had to guess - 400s in rear compartments, full stock. NCRS at 3 since Gs naturally have a steep wake, this will make it longer.
750s or larger might make it hard for nss to effectively work switching sides.2012 SANTE 230

Congrats on the new boat! I too have a G21 but haven't been able to use it since the lakes up here aren't thawed yet. Regarding additional ballast, the best idea I've come up with is to plumb in two 400's (too start, can always increase with quick disconnects) in the back, and plumb in two mastercraft xstar bow bags in the front. Based on their dimensions, they should fit pretty well. They are part of the 04-10 xstar overflow kit. I've heard of 400's being used in the bow of the g23's but I don't think they will work for the smaller bow of the g21. That's my best starting guess for additional weight without bags exposed. I too am open to ideas.2014 Super Air Nautique G21(current)

Have you contacted Wakemakers ? Ask for spencer. You won't be disappointed . He is working on all custom configurations with the 2014's, as complete systems are not available in packages. If there isn't a discount being offered, just ask. I'm sure he will works with you.2014 SAN 210 TE

Just talked to a pro wakesurfer that has spent a lot of time behind the G21... He said stock ballast is enough. The boat was designed to work with NSS instead of NSS designed to fit the boat. According to him, the wave is the best of any boat on the market.
He even said that for wakeboarding, the stock ballast is almost too much according to one of the pro riders.

Thanks for all your comments i really appreciate it!
I did speak with wake makers and he has done work on the g21. You can only get 2 250lb bags under the seats up front as there is not a ton of space under the seats. He says you can put huge bags in the rear as there is tons of space. He recommended adding new 3 new pumps 2 for the rear bags and 1 for the front bags. I am a little concerned about cutting new fill vents into the hull but i know it has been done before.
hey f725 it was very nice to here your comments from the pro surfer. I should have my boat in 2 weeks and will defiantly give stock ballast a try. I am hopefull it will be enough but hey can the surf wave ever really be to big!! size matters LOL
