    Rough Waters

Hello all, Ive been lurking here as well as other forums for a couple of years and have a couple of questions.

    1) We mainly go to Lake Mead, how will the G23 handle the rough waters that Lake Mead can throw at you?

2)When there are huge swells I would normally trim my Sea Ray out and raise the bow, what are common practices
to achieve the same with a inboard?

3)We also beach on occasion , is that totally out now? The sales person I've talked to a few times swears he beaches his G all the time at Mead. Thoughts and recommendations.

It's obvious my family has never owned a boat of this caliber, my boys wakeboard behind our Sea Ray but want to go
surfing instead. They're both athletes and boarding seems a little rough on the knees. I've never driven an inboard
or riden in one for a matter of fact. We are attracted to this type of boat for seating, layout, storage, and cool factor.
    Any thoughts on out purchase?

    Thanks
    Ron P.

There will be plenty more questions.

All I can say, is test drive one. You will never own an I/O ever again! The 23 is a monster and the hull will shock you how it performs. My first boat was a crownline I/O, the difference is night and day. Trim tabs???? Leveling the boat.... Never again!

You are making a good decision to chose Nautiques.

I went from a Sea Ray 270slx to a G23. The sea ray definitely cut through chop better but it had a much sharper v hull and weighed a **** of a lot more. We run with the G in the intercoastal on the west coast of Florida where it is choppy the majority of the time sadly but it still takes chop very well along with other boat wakes. You can't trim up with a inboard but if a big boat is coming I always slow down to around 15mph so we are really nose high and pushing through the water and waves, it works well. I haven't beached my boat because I have a black hull and the beaches are full of shells. I have seen a G beached though with no problems. Just dont let the ground touch the prop or rudder and your fine.
