Seeking opinions on replacing all my seadec

My 2010 S/N came with the grey Seadec, not the newer grey "titanium " but the grey foam type. I bought my boat used as a promo, so I didn't have any input on the color, otherwise I would have ordered the brown faux teak. I like the brown MUCH better. My question to you guys is, should I pony up the $750 and replace perfectly good SD, or am I being nit picky. If it makes a differnce, my carpet and seats have grey in them.
    What's your thoughts?

Sure i will spend your hard earned money. If you like something buy it. $750 doesn't really register on a 50k boat. While I'm spending for you. Have sea deck do something custom for your boat. Might like it better.

+1 for Crad, but to play the devil's advocate is it going to look weird and hurt resale if the seadec and seats don't match? Just something else to consider (might help if it looks wicked sweet).

If it was me and it was in good shape and matched seats, and if i was wanting to - and it sure seems you are - i would spend the $750 on something else for the boat.

Great question! Definitely like the newer sea deck over the 2010 foam...no brainier. Regarding color, I have the brown on a midnight/crystal/grey boat....so I would have preferred the grey sea deck intuitively. However, the brown has really grown on me. Not sure I would do anything different now. Does grey show stains or get dingy easier?
          Peace..

I think you guys talked me into it LOL. I bought a nice heat gun at Lowe's a couple of months ago in the off chance that I go through with the project.

As you can tell from the pic of my boat the back half is red, so I think that should match up with the brown faux teak.

At least you didn't have the Sano pad.... that stuff was terrible.

Yeah, Sano was the worst. I am a big fan of brown because a teak deck is something I think that sets ski boats apart from the rest of the world. I know it isn't real but it's still got the look. You can make brown work with just about any color. FYI if you don't order the parts as Nautique part numbers you have to make sure it's cut in Nautique Brown not Mocha because the colors are different. Guess it doesn't matter to much for you since you are replacing it all but down the road it might cause issues if you do piece replacements. I would feel like I got jipped if I bought a 10 200 and the next year they came out with the Faux Teak because it looks wayyyyyy better than just the dimple top stuff. Best method of removal is a heated razorblade scraper or else it just comes off in little pieces.

Zach, thanks for the info. Yeah, I had the option of buying 3 different promo boat at the time from my dealer and I went with the boat that I liked the best (with a whopping 36 hours). The only one that had the faux teak was basically all white with a colored top deck. Now I think I'm going to get my boat a little closer to what I want.

At the risk of hijacking the post...Zach, will the brown (or grey) fade over time? And is it possible to get two different colors of brown? Noticed on Nautique Parts that the kit for a 200v doesn't include the platform...guessing would need to be ordered separately...and could doing this open the risk of different colored lot material? I'm asking about this because my platform is holding its color and the rest seems to be fading...but it was always not the same color.
                      Peace..

What color do you have now? The platform SD is sold separately. In addition, I found out that because my boat has a closed bow I now have to order a third kit. This is starting to become an expensive project.

Seadek isn't cheap haha. I have heard of some folks material changing differently but this seems to be on the earlier boats. Seadek didn't have the consistency in color dialed in that well from their suppliers a few years ago. We sometimes see interior kits not matching the existing platform/steps on 11s and such. Not a huge deal but you can tell sometimes. Of the colors I am going to assume Grey will fade less. I will tell you that Seadek has implemented a new UV testing standard that is much more rigorous than before. They are even able to keep the red and orange from fading and will be reintroducing orange into the line up soon. All of our customers locally are lift people and the boats sit out all year. The current stuff on the boats is still looking great after 2-3 years pending the boat. Adam's 13G (sold to a local customer) has close to 600 hours and lives on a lift and it still looks pretty awesome.

Hopefully if I get my order in now it will be here by Memorial Day weekend. Zach made a comment on a different post that Seadek is backed up with a lot of work.
