    In season storage

Picked up my new SANTE 210. Taking it to the lake tomorrow. I have to decide the best in season storage option for her. The 2 I am seriously considering are:

    1. Dry, covered, "rack" storage in a boatel
    2. Covered slip storage on a lift

i would welcome opinions of owners on this.

    Thanks.

I think I would prefer option #2. No need to arrange for them to drop your boat or pull it from the water. Easier access and clean up etc. Now if theft is a worry, I might be more inclined to have them rack it.

All the rack storage systems facilities that I used in the past left the boat extremely filthy from diesel soot from the forklift. Option 2 in my opinion.

        Option 2.
I don't like anyone but me touching my boat.

          Came to post this.

Also if you get back to the marina after they close your boat will sit, unattended, in the water over night. Not a huge deal but something to keep in mind.

Don't know where you are but last season we stored on our boat lift in water and a sea otter made a home on the lift. He carried fish onto the lift and also crapped everywhere. He also proceeded to walk all over the cover but didn't get in. Then a month later a raccoon got in and ate fish guts all over the inside of the boat.

Needless to say we stored indoors for long periods this year.

Dry storage (individual covered or enclosed garage, not racks) or go home. No worrying about someone else touching your boat or theft/spiders/whatever from storing on a lift.

If it's the two choices I'd chose #2 for all the reasons they did. I leave on a covered lift. It's right there when I'm ready and out of the water when I leave. No one else touches it.

I have a friend who keeps his 35' Boston Whaler in dry stacked storage. It's a simple phone call before you leave for the water and it's sitting there ready when you get there. If you want to clean it it's the same process. Make a phone call and they set it on a rack outside. Every place is different though.
