Advice on an 05 210 TE

    Gday gang,

Very very close to buying this bad boy, an 05 210 TE.

Got a water test in two weeks. From what I can tell so far is that it's in very good nick.

The 'issue' I have is hat there's 620 hours on the clock. It's the second owner after the factory, both have put 300 on it. Regularly serviced, had the manifolds and risers changed 100 hours ago. Impeller before and after every season. Everything else is stock with nothing changed out. No apparent issues - bloke even gave me his service shops name to call.

    Is 620 hours too much?

What would be some of the issues I should be alert for on the water test?

    Thanks

Ps, Love this forum. IMHO Correct Craft should chalk up a % of their new and 2nd hand sales to this forum alone. It's the major cause of me picking Nautique over other brands...your wealth of knowledge is second to none.

620 is ok. Mild use if it is from 2005.
Most important is overall impression of the boat: Well maintained (impeller, filters & oils),clean engine, upholstery, canvas parts, gelcoat, rust, also check ballast pumps....

Great boat! I had an 05'... Have the fuel pumps (High and low pressure) ever been replaced?

        Thanks josemolino!

Shag - I haven't specifically asked that question. He has told me that he has never had any issues. Why do you ask about that?

I have 780 on my 05 210 with no mechanical issues. Check out the ballast fill pumps, not a big cost item but I have gone through four in the last year and a half. They get brittle over time and hose barb breaks off.

I wouldn't sweat 600 hours at all. Under 100 hours of use per season sounds like normal use to me. I'd rather have a well maintained boat that was regularly serviced with modest hours than one with super lower hours that just sat for long periods of time. Good luck with your purchase.

I have over 1000 hours on my 1999 SAN with the GM Apex motor (predecessor to the Excalibur) and other than normal maintenance items (exhaust manifolds and risers) and tuneup items, it is still running strong with near-perfect compression in all cylinders. If you're concerned about engine wear, have a compression test performed on the engine. If that checks out well and the manifolds and risers have already been changed, then I would have no concerns.

Only problem I had was fuel pump. And I knew a buddy with same boat that had same issue. Not a big deal, but was just curious. 600 hrs is ok. If anything, it might help you negotiate a slightly lower price.
