    Additional ballast 2013 230

Trying to add more weight for best surf wake...which way do you suggest? Adding bags on top of existing ones? Plumbing together or separate? Replace entire hard tank with a bigger one? Your experiences would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

also best combination of nss setting and weight?

My 230 is setup with 2 - 800# Ronix bags in each rear locker, and a U-Bag made for the 230 from Wakemakers.com

If you call them, they will get you outfitted with everything in one box that is easy to install on your overflow lines of the stock tanks.

I fill all the tanks and bags full. The passengers all switch sides to the rider side to clean the wake more. I use 2 - 50# lead bags from wakebomb.com to move up front if we need a longer sweetspot.

With this setup, I use NSS at 0 and the gate all the way forward for a LONG clean wake on the port side. The starboard is steeper than port by default due to the rotation of the prop. My speed is from 10.2-10.8 depending on the rider preference. Slower and steeper for the newbies.

I'll put up pix when I get home.

I have a 2013 as well. Did you use the one way valves etc that are being used in the factory pro ballast setup?

You mean bomb sacks from bombwake.com? They work great, I didn't want to try plumbing in a bow sac so I have 6 of them that live under the front seats for "permanent" ballast and 4 more that I use for overall tuning. I am pretty big and my boat favors a bit of extra weight on port side anyway. If I don't have enough passenger weight I can move them all opposite of me to clean it up If I want to use all of the 750's that I have in the rear locker. Otherwise I have to run the Stbd side 200+ pounds light of a full load. If I am well balanced I can toss most of them up on top of the bow seats. Either way it makes it easy to tell people who want to move from where they are to where the weight is that they just have to move the weight. For me it was better to pull the hard tanks and have the extra storage and I still have ~2300lbs of ballast available which is plenty for a 210. Piggybacking 400's on top of the factory tanks eat most of the storage and doesn't offer more weight and the gauges are still inaccurate. It also makes it much easier to sit in the compartments during maintenance and winterization.

Yes, the bombwake.com sacks. My mail lady hates me when I order them. Just got another pair delivered Monday.

ffmedic74: I had Nautiques of Orlando do my install. I'm not sure how they did it. What do the one-way valves do?
