help, my trailer is stuck and wont reverse.

2014 trailer, solinoid (sp) blew, just had it fixed under warranty and its done again. happened as i was backing up the curb of my driveway, some fluid leaking out about half way between the tongue joint and the ball socket. any idea why this might be happening? my neighbour who is away as we speak, put tape around something last year so i could reverse. any ideas how i can back it up for the time being? thanks very much

In a pinch you can always put a socket in the sliding part. Just a have someone hold it there for a second while you backup. The pressure will hold it for the rest of the time. Now when you go forward it will fall

You need one or two of these with trailer at all times...

I used to use one of these with my other trailer all the time. Just keep a roll of electrical tape also. When you're by yourself just pop it in and tape it into place and you can reverse the trailer without problems. Not sure why it's leaking but sounds like in got pinched potentially if you have a swing away tongue?

need to find the source of the fluid leak -- I think there is a hydraulic piston that drives the booster brakes, so that could be a separate issue from the reverse lock-out solenoid.
