Need tower advice (important) pics provided

I received a free tower that came off a 08 nautique, all I had to do was shorten the width to fit my 96 super sport. It is a Titan tower, and it's a bit long and the question I have is that the ski ring on tower is 24 inches past my pylon in the boat. I was told that the ski ring should be close to where the pylon is in the boat. If I was to mount this tower and use it to wakeboard, etc. with this affect anything? I figure it's more weight toward back of boat so it should be a better wake. I need your advice before I attach this tower. Any help is needed, thanks

Where you tie the rope doesnt matter. In my opinion the tower in the background looks better. But free is free.

Just My $0.02, sell it and see if you can buy a New Dimensions tower for that boat. It's possible a really GOOD fabricator could shorten the lower hoop to make it fit better, but that's going to be really difficult. Maybe somebody out there wants a tower like this so their 230 will fit under a 7' garage door...

The fact that the tow point is two feet further forward than you pylon will affect the pull on your boat (from the rider), but it shouldn't make that big a difference.

Not bad looking but I would look into a New Dimension tower.

It really comes down to your budget.

If you are price sensitive... by all means take the freebie, do the install and get on the water asap and enjoy it for years.

The design and fitment of that free tower is NOT ideal. You will take a hit later when you go to sell or trade if that matters to you.... as folks like towers that follow the lines of the boat and windshield. This tower likely wont do that well.

I have owned and installed a New Demnsion tower.... and their towers have lines that will fit your boat perfectly.... and keep your boat looking like Nautique with a Nautique tower vs and aftermarket fit as this will look. If they dont have what you want, they will make it, and it will be an EXACT fit EXACTLY the way you want it.

          Good luck!

Another thing to consider is that the Titan tower is pretty wiggly. I dont know anything about the New Dimnesion tower but the Titan I have on mine wiggles a good bit going over rollers. You will also notice that the rear port bolt will sometimes get loose on the Titan. Search Titan Tower problems on here and you will run accross a few. IMO Titan is the best looking 4 legged tower on the market but not the best functioning.

I appreciate everyone's advice. I am price sensitive right now. This is my first boat and was hoping to get away with the free tower.
I will do some checking on any problems. Thanks

I wouldn't worry about the tow point very much. You'll just need to run a 2 foot shorter rope if you want to be at the same spot on the wake as you are on another Super Sport/210 with the factory/NDT tower. I think it looks better than a Monster or other universal tower would look but obviously not as good as the factory/NDT tower which is meant for it. But if you are happy with the way it looks I would go for it because it should function fine and you can't beat the price.
