    '14 210 wakesurf vs. G23

Has anyone surfed the new '14 210 that can compare it the G23 surf wave? From my experience, the G23 has a monster surf wave but it doesn't look as long as the pictures I have seen of the '14 210. My crew is beginning surfers and I feel like a longer wave will make it easier to recover. Also, what is the best beginning board for a 200lb rider. I can surf the pocket, but as soon as I try to start cutting back and forth a little, I tend to lose the push. Any input on the wake surf differences is much appreciated.

InlandSurfer has two boards I'd start with, the Red Rocket and the Blue Lake. Not too sure what Phase 5 offers but I hear good things about their line. For lengthening the pocket, experiment with having a passenger or two ride in the bow and see if that helps.

The G23 is probably a better beginner or easier wave to surf due to the push it has, length doesn't alway help unless you have the push further back. The push the G23 has is incredible, the easiest wave I have ever ridden.

I am using an Inland Surfer. I thinks it's the 4 Skim.

Hyperlite Broadcast has been my fail safe learner board so far.

Look for a blemished or slightly damaged and save some $$$

B: my pal with the x25 has a similar skim style board (Black Pearl Yellow) but I like the float and speed of a surf style board, plus I am 200 and at times it would pearl on me, and I'd lose the "push". I blamed his setup and bought him an 1,100 pound sac for his birthday. He has switched to the Swallow v.2 (same as I have) and he recently added the Sweet Spot Pro, which I tried a couple weeks ago. It is fast and loose. I like the carving of the Swallow. Far better than the Blue Lake, and obviously the Red. I am thinking try a surf style?

P.S. my nephew is an FSU grad.

I should have the chance to surf both this weekend. I've been behind the G23 last year. Excited to check out the new 210 surf wave!

+1 for the Hyperlite Broadcast as a fantastic beginner board. Incredibly easy to get up and find one's balance on, with lots of forgiveness. I don't think I've taken anyone out who hasn't been able to get up AND get some decent "slack rope" time on their first session. I find it pretty easy to recover with if you slip out of the pocket, I suppose because of its length and buoyancy. I can easily ride with my 4 year old on the board with me on the Broadcast... buoyant and forgiving!

ive surfed both boats. both create a great wave, but the 14 210 is the best surf boat that ive ever riden. the nss makes cusom waves with settings so easy and i dont think that ive ever been able to ride as far back from the transom as i have with the 210.
