Hi guys,
Yesterday I rode behind a G23 for the first time, and it was sweet! A friend of mine just purchased it, a 2013 with the 450hp motor. However, we were having difficulty to plane. I ended up only being able to run with 5/8 of the ballast tanks full, and most of the passengers would go to the bow. Even then, it would take a long while to plane. NCRS would also be set to 5, which I believe has the same effect as having the Hydrogate all the way forward? We had 14 people on the boat, although most of them were kids. This is in Southeastern TN, so we are basically at sea level. Also, I don't know what prop is on it, as we never pulled it out of the water.
I felt like a total noob, because I have experience with properly weighting 210s and 230s so that they plane decently, yet I was totally out of my league with this G.
Any advice? Do 450hp G's usually need a re-prop to run full ballast?
Thanks in advance!
