Custom Sea-Dek 2012 210

Ok, for the 230'ers. I stopped and measured the front of a 2013 230 to see how these pieces would fit. The raised area around the lifting ring is actually smaller on the 230 than the 210 so that piece would not fit exactly. Not to say you couldn't make it work, but I don't think it will be as pretty. The longer pieces should work. The gunnel's on the 230 seem just a little wider and flatter than on the 210.

So I got a reply from Sea-Dek. If you were to order just the bow pieces from them, the cost is rather high at 159.95 per kit (3 pieces). I told them that this is for PlanetNautique members and they are willing to give us a deal. If I order 5 at a time, meaning they can just use a whole sheet and cut them, they will make the cost 60.00 + shipping for each kit. They can be made in either the Grey or Brown Teak.

The only thing I need to get clarification on is whether I am the one that needs to order and then re-sell, or is we can submit them 5 individual orders at a time and they will ship them to you directly.

I don't mind fronting the money and then having you all pay me for them. I just don't want to become stuck in the "dealer" role, since I'm not a dealer.

I will reply once more when I get the ordering clarification from them.

So in the guise of transparency I would just like to grab some clarification. In one of your first posts about this your cost for the whole shebang (I assume that included your nss pieces) was $130 including setup. Then when you asked them for a quote for the Bow Pieces only the cost went up to $159.99 + S/H?

It seems like you created a design that is pretty awesome and Sea-dek is being a bit greedy, not only was their quote for $29.99 more, but it came with two less pieces?

I would think they could do better than 60 for each kit, especially considering the awesome response we've had on these. There's like 10 ppl wanting them. Maybe see if they will ship free or if we get to a certain # of orders we can get a $20 discount?

With all that being said I still think they are bad a$$ and I will be paying whatever it costs to make bow entry safe for all people in central IL.

It also needs to be said that I really do appreciate you putting in the leg work on this, I know you don't have to help out random people on the internet like this. So thank you very much!!

I already have a similar setup for the 230 in the works. Also the rear transom protectors are in their final stages.

They have a minimum fee now of 159.99. I avoid this fee by ordering quantity when I do things unless its completely custom that nobody else would want.

Thanks for that reply Zach. I was going to say the same thing about cost.

Clibka, before I send in the order sheet I will call and ask if they can do any better on the pricing since it looks like I may be ordering 15 kits (which is 3 full sheets of material.) I will also see what they can do about shipping. It would really nice, for my sake, if they could ship directly to you guys. I will see what they say. At worst they can say no.

Does anyone have anything for the transome? Not the top i have those. I am looking for 2 narrow strips that would prevent ski and board dings. Much like the G series except for the 210

I just bought 4 of the top strips and put them across the back. The 4 fit in between the NSS plates evenly spaced and they don't create an issue with the platform spacing and removal.

How much was your original investment? Subtract the 60 plus shipping, divide by the 15 and maybe we can mail something to help you? Turn about is fair, after all you did the work.

The pieces that Nautique used to us as the gunwale steps. (Remember the old stainless and rubber step pads). I ordered 4 of Sea-Dek version from Zach at N3 last year. They are not part of the custom order that I'm doing.
