    Hippo ballast fill and drain?

I have a 99 san and it has the hippopotamus ballast fill and drain but there are tons of wires and long grounding bars. ... When I bought the boat everything worked but it was a big cluster of wires so I removed it. .. the buttons on the dash look factory. ... Anyone have info on this system

I believe they went out of business a long time ago and you will never find parts. They were out of Arizona. My 01 had this system but it had been ripped out and all that was left was the 2" gauge with drain and fill buttons. I ended up just sending it to somebody who needed it. Like you said I think it was an overly complex system and you will probably have less headaches if you abandon it and go with ballast puppies or aerators. Im assuming you have a bunch of aerator pumps with the system?

Yeah it's very complicated. I'm going to use rocker switches and areator pumps. The system worked when I bought the boat but the wires looked like a birds nest so I removed them. Guess I could remove the hippo gauge add another type of gauge to the pod
