anyone figure out how to make the USB port and iPhone work on the 2014 G boats?

Awesome. I tried it in the 2014 G21, G23 and G25 last weekend, and couldn't get it to work. Then tried it yesterday in my new G23 without success. It's most likely user error.

On the G I ride my iphone 5 works over blue tooth and USB while two other people's Iphone 5s exhibits the problem you are referring to. Looks like nautique needs to release a firmware upgrade ...

Works perfectly with my iPhone 5 (not 5s). Also make sure to use a cable with the correct resistance, i.e. make sure to use an Apple lightning cable, not a third party. I have a few third party lightning cables that work, and several that do not.

btw, I ran the USB cable to the drivers side glove box. So much more convenient to have the iphone sitting on the dash and not in the passenger glove box.

Same issue on my 2014 210.....my iPhone 5 works great through USB, my daughter's 5S gives the 'loading device' error. She can connect via Bluetooth, though.

Why not just use bluetooth?

Because bluetooth does not charge the phone.

I wish it worked also. I do use the Bluetooth... But BT has signif reduced sound quality.

using RCAs or 3.5mm plug leaves you with better sq, no then you have no ability to hit "next track" or get the song data on the dash or transom remotes. You have no control over the music source using RCAs or 3.5mm.

so right now you have to choose between sq and convenience. You can't have both. I've never heard of using a USB for a controllable music source.... Malibu has an iPhone to S-Video plug that is good SQ and allows control of the music source from remotes.

Hi, I also have had the 5s issue you refer to. (new 2014 g23) We checked the Polk web site and this head unit does not support the 5s or some of the newer Ipods. We have checked with the dealer and asked if there is a firmware update which will correct the problem.
