Here's a pic from Memorial a few years ago. Watch out for jet boats coming up behind you.

...How are you guys telling when your tanks are empty?

Thats one plus for pulling the hard tanks and just running bigger bags. I just have to open both lockers and glance and I easily know where I am at by how full the bags are. Its not super convenient to pull the engine divider so you can see the side of the hard tank. Could you just take advantage of the sending units in the tank to check the levels again? I believe you would need to completely power down the system and and restart it but it should show the levels according to the sending unit on power up. Still not as easy as just taking a look at the empty bags while your stashing your gear in the lockers though.

So if you completely shut down and restart the sending units will read the level of the tanks and that level will remain on LINC? So if they are 3/4 fell and you shut down and restart the the LINC will read at start up 3/4 full and stay there?

Went to back into the low lake Saturday and the extra ramp length combined with moss from the 10ft low lake took my traction. As I slowly slid backward pondering why anti-lock does not work in reverse I was comforted by the idea that I might slide sideways and hit something before splashing into the lake...it went straight. As the boat hit the lake it took enough drag off that the truck stopped just in time for a perfect launch.

On boot the LINC disaplays whatever its interpretation is of the signal the sending unit sends. From that point on it uses a timer to guess about when its full and again when its empty, seems like a waste of some perfectly good sending units. When I had factory hard tanks it wasn't particularly accurate as the impellers wore out, it was a pretty good indicator they were worn when you turned the boat on the next time and they were 1/4 full so you got used to just running the pumps till it overflows to make sure it is full. Without the sending units now timers still shows "Full" and "Empty" the same way it would before it just always starts at empty regardless of if there is something in the bags.

Yikes! That's uncool...hope it was just pride that was damaged, not bodies.

Slight side story - years ago my buddy had a Tahiti jet boat - 460 Ford with a Jacuzzi pump. Had a gas pedal, not a throttle. No windshield. Maybe 3 inches of freeboard in the back. Fast bastard...likely could touch 70mph flat out. One day he asked me to take it down the lake and bring it by the dock on WOT so he could see what it looked like at speed. Hehe...didn't think twice about that one. Went down about a bit more than a quarter mile and came roasting back about 15 feet off the end of the dock. Lucky no one come out of the pier or maybe I could have ended up like that picture. Worst part was that this was at dusk and the bugs were just rising off the water....high speed, bugs and no windshield are not a good combination.

I got so sick of bajas(and the likes) and house boats plowing the lake this weekend... They make me mad. I don't understand the point of a power cruiser and if you own a house boat and keep it on a lake I can be from end to end on in under an hour in my tow boat, I pitty you.

I think if you drive around purposefully plowing in a house boat, you should lose your boat priveledges for the weekend.
