After use boat care

Interested in advice for after use boat care in-season. I have a g23 and it sits on a lift when not in use at our lake place. All I've been doing at the end of each day is wiping down exterior/hull so that water spots don't form. What more should I be doing - even if just weekly/ monthly - to keep her looking great?

I don't do it every time but every 2 weeks or so I like to hit all the fiberglass with a spray wax after I finish drying the boat. I like to use Babe's Boat Bright (green stuff). Just spray it on and wipe dry and it leaves a good shine and a noticeably smoother surface. It even smells good when you apply it.

I also like to give the vinyl a good cleaning and then hit it with 303 Aerospace Protectant about once a month.

I pull my boat after each trip to the lake and garage store rather than using a boat lift. When I pull it, I spray on Turtle Wax 1 Step "Wax & Dry". Spray on while the boat is wet and wipe dry to an instant shine. I started using this on my '05 211 (black hull) and it does an amazing job; have continued using it with my '13 200 sport; so easy since I wipe it dry after each use anyway. If I did store my boat on a lift, I would follow s_kelley's suggestion q1-2wks and spray this Turtle Wax & Dry on and wipe dry. I do the same as s_kelley with the vinyl.

I have been using Bow to Stern for the last 2 years and it is great stuff, plus you can use it on everything. I even use it on my truck.

^^^ undisputed heavyweights... Work the best and the price reflects. I bottle lasts approx 1 Month for me, 4 weeks, 3 wipe downs per week. g23 is a huge boat. Lots of fiberglass.

I now use Pacific Mist Zip Mist detailer.... Almost identical to Hot Sauce at half the price. I add in a little Turtle Wax Ice or Lucas Spray mist to get a little wax on there each time. <----- awesome results

I do this every time I'm finished using the boat. First, I wipe down with Babe's Spot Remover, and then I go over it with the Boat Bright.

I have some Boat Bling Hot Sauce that I'm going to try, because it is supposed to have the spot remover and wax mixed together. That way I don't have to go over it twice like I do w/the Babe's stuff.

I might have to try that Pacific Mist Zip detailer if it's half the price.

In AZ the hard water spots form on the black above the water line before I even get the boat out of the water. Literally the heat bakes them in while you are cruising. I have to wipe down the boat every time it comes out of the water or I have to use harsh chemicals and/or polish it frequently.

Straight vinegar works great for getting the water spots off but it removes the wax pretty fast. The more you cut it with water the more work it is to get the water spots off. I use the Boat Bling Hot Sauce and while it doesn't work as well it also doesn't strip the wax off and makes the time between waxes a lot longer. I have found that using a textured microfiber scrubbing cloth works better to keep the streaks down on the black when working in direct sunlight over 100 degrees. I also have switched to using the Boat Bling Quickie sauce as my wax since they work very well together. If I take my time on each clean up and keep the water spots down I can basically make it a full year between polishing and only wash and wax once mid year.

I bought 2 spray bottles of Hot Sauce so I can have 2 people work on the outside and 2 gallons to refill from when I am at home which is a lot cheaper. I get probably 14 wipe downs per bottle on average for a 210. The spray wax bottle seems to be more than half full after a couple of waxings so it seems like it will last a long time.

After use boat care

I hose the boat off with fresh water after every weekend. Spray babes (green stuff) on it wet and dry with a towel. It looks incredible . We wipe interior down with fresh water and towel

I wipe my boat down with Lucas Slick Mist fast wax after every use. Really takes no more effort than a simple dry/wipe down.

Whenever I go out on a new/friends boat I bring a bottle and a couple of new microfiber rags with me. After riding I pull out the bottle and wipe their boat down for them. They are usually pressed by how nice their boat looks and I give the bottle/rags to keep. My buddies boats all stay looking good. Babes is my second choice.

My biggest problem when its on the lift for the weekend is the littel black spots on the vinyl from bugs overnight. I make sure to wipe it down good every morning or those things will never come off.

I wipe it down with some wet wax type product (goign to have to try the Lucas stuff) at the end of the weekend and about once a month i rub the interior down with some 303 protectant

Base of 3M wax, white can. 2x a year spring fall, maybe a 3rd with heavy use.
Wipe down with babes or whatever you like given your availability and climate.
303 on the interior everything.
303 works on ALL the toys and my proof is on the resale of all my toys looking like NEW.
