    Garage Height- '00-'02 Air/Pro Air

Asking for a favor since I am not near my boat currently. Does anyone know the minimum garage height necessary for a '00-'02 DD Air Nautique with FCT2 on a single-axle Ramlin trailer?

Looking for a place to store my boat and there is a storage unit that will work but only has a 78" door clear height. I don't think this is enough with the tower folded as I remember it being fairly close on a 7'(84") door. There was probably only ~3" to spare IIRC.

Am I correct in thinking there is no chance in it fitting?

I think you are correct that will not fit...at least not easily. You might be able to squeeze it in by letting some air out of the tires and or dropping the trailer tongue down as low as possible but even then I think you will be pushing it. A 7' door is a tight squeeze so I don't think 6.5' is going to work too well.

Here is a pic of my 99 Sport with FCT2 on a Magnum trailer with it sitting about at my towing height on the tongue. So it's just over 80" at the highest point and it does just barely fit in my 7' height garage door.

Thanks guys! Looks like the consensus is that it is a no-go. The Ram-Lin may sit a bit lower due to the wishbone design but I still don't think it gets to 78".

Not sure who designs a 10x30 storage unit with sub seven foot doors...

My 99 Sport on Ramlin will drop to 76" with the trailer wheel cranked to it's lowest...obviously this is with the trailer disconnected...could you just back the boat in to the folded tower and then disconnect trailer and push the rest of the way in manually? I guess this depends on how readily available a different storage location is.

I have an 03 Air on an Eagle trailer. The Eagle trailer sits a bit higher than others due to its bunk design. I also have a 7 foot garage door. I took a furniture dolly from Lowe's and blocked it with 2x4s and extra bunk carpeting and that sits just behind the fold away tongue. When the boat is in the garage, I use the trailer jack and dolly to support the trailer. When I want to move the boat out of the garage, I fold the trailer jack up and roll the trailer / dolly combo out of the garage. I have a level driveway, so there are no issues with it getting away from me. It clears the garage door and trim. When putting the boat back into the garage...I do the reverse by backing the boat up most the way and then sliding the dolly underneath and pushing it into the garage. I did buy a lowering hitch to drop the front of the trailer to give me some clearance when attached to the truck (like 1 inch clearance with the top of the door frame). So I can pull it out and back it in with the truck, but then I have to switch hitches before I hit the road. Either way, it is a few extra minutes of time.

Two resolutions: 1) I buy a super expensive adjustable hitch 2) I go to a larger garage door opening. I think the opening can not just be increased by a few inches, I think it is the next size door height and new track setup.

If you want photos, let me know.

Good to know. Conceivably I could do that but honestly is more work than it is worth to be in this location. Removing the speakers and folding the tower down is work enough!
