    Water pooling on cover....

So, we are having an issue with water pooling on the cover of our 02 SAN.
It was pooling just above the rear seats, but I made an extension to fit over the pylon to help stretch the cover in that area.
However, it is pooling in the bow now. I tried to pile the bow cushions up to help, but as you can see in the pic, it pools around it.
Does anybody have any ideas how to eliminate the water pooling on the cover (aside from getting a canopy for our lift)?
(for some reason I can't upload the pic...???)

What kind of cover are you using? Trailering, dust, etc? For one of my old boats, I would tie a rope around the lifting ring for the bow, run it over the windshield and tie off on the pylon. I would in effect make a tent in the bow. It will only work if you have a way to keep the sides down though, otherwise, the rain just pulls the sides of the cover into the boat (worse than pooling).

You could also add some reinforcement to the cover in the bow area and add a pole under it.

Look up Hangtyte. It attaches to your cover and a rope goes over the tower. You pull the rope tight and all the water rolls of the side.

I used to throw a tube in the bow of my old boat. Would prop up the cover nicely.

I had a similar problem with my 04. I looked at the hangtyte but decided to just replace the cover instead. My cover had started leaking at the sag points too.

Is it still holding out water at the sag points? Does the cover have snaps? you may be able to find someone to relocate the snaps to get it tight again.

I had one of these cover supports on my last boat that got stored outdoors:

              http://www.overtons.com/modperl/prod...upport&i=39609

Took a little bit of time and trial and error to set it up correctly so it would take up all the slack in the cover everywhere, then it was just a couple of minutes each time to set it up. I took a pool noodle and slit it down the middle to put over the windshield to keep the straps from ruining the finish since there wasn't any extra pvc hose to protect it. Other than the strap drying out after a year and needing to be replaced it worked pretty good for the 2 years I used it for.

I am not exactly sure what cover it is. I will check a little closer this weekend.
The cover does have hangtyte mechanism on it.
I don't think it is leaking at the sag points.
Maybe I will try the beach ball idea first.
Hard part is, the boat is at our cabin & we are only there every other weekend. Otherwise I would just scoop the water out each time.
                ThankSS

FYI - most covers are water repellant and not waterproof (so they can breathe) and hence if it's pooling the cover will be leaking water in at a slow, but steady rate. I had the same issue with my cover for my DD as it would pool at the edge of the rear seat.

I fixed it by creating a bowed slat out of 1/2 PVC plastic tubing to eliminate the low spot. I ran a piece of cord through the pipe to attach it to the hand holds on either side of the rear seat.

When was the last time you applied 303 fabric guard? The rain will drip off faster and won't stay in place long enough to weight down the cover and accumulate water.

found a 44" beach ball & set it in the bow... now we wait for rain.

303 fabric guard to the cover.... hhhmmm maybe I'll try that as well.

BTW, I am still not 100% sure what cover it is. I found a tag, but it was pretty faded & could only make out AZ, which I am guessing it was made in Arizona... (I'll try to upload that picture again)

Dont even me started on this topic. I have the custom cover with snaps on my 2014. The water pools along the tower seam. It's driving me crazy!!! I'm going to try hangtyte. It's nuts how these covers cost so much and do this!!

a 211 is not a 210, but I finally figured out how to install my cover. Attach the bow strap, then the stern. Get the 'bridge' tight between them and the rest (down each side) just snug them up. Since I've started this never had a problem.

UPDATE: the beach ball lost some air & the water puddled in the bow again. Before we left on Sunday, I snapped the bow cover on & put the partially inflated beach ball under that. Then put the boat cover on. Guess we will see in 2 weeks.

BTW is this the 303 product that was recommended above? http://www.goldeagle.com/product/303...n-fabric-guard
