I purchased the boat wrecked. Great interior, great engine, well maintained other than being wrecked. I performed all the fiberglass and gelcoat repair work. Colors look different due to different cameras and light. I am currently reassembling and plan to have the boat back on the water in about two weeks. The trailer also got a full restoration and will go back under the boat this week.

Here are a couple of progress shots. Pic ...052 was taken after structural repairs complete and faired out. I then ground off all the stress cracked gelcoat and then applied thinned epoxy resin on the fiberglass in an attempt to fill the stress cracked fiberglass. I then sanded smooth applied a bit more fairing compound and sprayed on the new gelcoat. Work represents hundreds of manhours.

Ok, I'll ask- What happened to the boat? Car accident or water accident?

I purchased the boat from another member of this board who I need to either thank or curse for making this possible. Actually, he took great care fo the boat before the accident, so that helped me make the decision to purchase the boat and go forward...and the price was right.
Before I purchased the boat, I had NEVER done any fiberglass or gelcoat repair work. I purchased books, pamplets, videos and scoured the net for weeks before beginning work. With that said, I tend to be talented at this type of work anyway as I have done ground up restoration on many cars of the years and I do my own paint and body work on cars. So, this really turned out to be remarkably similiar, just more mess and itching.
I purchased the boat on 9/18/04 and have been working on it ever since. I do most of the work at night after the wife and I put the youngest kid in bed. My wife has been an evening widow since the project started and she is ready for it to be done. Of course the noisey grinding work had to be done during the day to avoid disturbing the neighbors.
