1st time in the water. Anyone in Birmingham?

Well I launched my boat today for the first time. Very long project(snow ball affect). New motor, all new carpet, new interior, re-powdercoated the tower and new stereo system along with trying to figure out The original problem which was a bad distributor. The boat ran great my only concern is a slight vibration under acceleration. If there is anyone in the Birmingham area, with a super sport or a super air(96+ w\gt40), I would like to ride in their boat to compare the ride to mine. Oh, these boats do not like reverse [emoji1]. Docking will take a little getting use to.

For your vibration check the engine to prop shaft alignment and cutlass bearings . The prop must be perfect unlike IOs and out boards there is no tolerance in an inboard. You have to plan your approach when docking . Come in at a 45 degree angle when the bow gets near the dock put it in reverse and the Stearn will move in with the prop rotation. Of course if there is wind or currant your on your own.

Since you've already made the effort to pretty much replace everything, I would hope it's not an alignment issue. I usually try to check the simplest things first. Namely the prop. They're always temperamental so even with the slighest ding in can cause annoying vibrations.

You're always welcome for a ride down on Mitchell, but I don't think I could offer help for that model. 1979 SN myself.

What lake are you usually on?

Indeed. Get your prop balanced first. You cannot see if it is balanced or not, but your boat can vibrate with that.

You likely have a small ding in your prop, often unnoticeable to the eye
