Surf wave takes a long time to form

Hey guys I'm concerned there is something wrong with my 2014 G23 w/550 at 5500' Elev. (still running factory low elev prop) It takes quite amount of time for the boat to create a wave. It doesnt seem to be a power issue. Just weeks before we had a G21 w/450 that seem to creat a wave almost immediately after I was up but this is not the case on mine. It almost seems like the NSS or NCRS is running slow or soomething. Any help would be great guys.

What speed are you running at? If normal speeds (anything above 10.5mph) I would say you have an issue with the NSS. That wave should form as soon as you get up to speed regardless where the NCRS is positioned.

when the wave has started are you able to change nss settings right away, ex. 0-5? when you turn on the linc and turn off the linc system do you hear the nss engage immedaitely?

mine does that about every 10 surfing starts .. always forms, but late, and then good to go , always look at the link system to see if i hit a wrong key, but nothing, I always chalk it up to some body moved around the boat, I quickly forget about it because its such a great wave..

mine does the same...takes about 3-5 seconds longer than I'd expect it to. i just simply don't sweat it. waiting 5 seconds for some fun is nothing.

I'm using factory 10.9 mph and after the zero off takes over I would say sometimes I get a wave 5 seconds later to 15 seconds later. Which when I was using the dealers G21 loaner the wave formed almost immediately

I havent payed attention to what the NSS is doing as I cant really see it when on surf board and when I'm driving I did not notice a place on the screen that lets me know when the NSS is deploying. I also have not shut system down while in surf mode but only 1 time yesterday because surf wave never formed and my buddy hit surf off then on again.

10.9 is really slow. In fact its so slow, I've never surfed that slow on either of my Gs. Suggest you start at 11.4-11.8.

also, when it's time to go, hammer down on the throttle, don't lollygag. <--- I bet this is the issue, throw the throttle down all the way till speed control takes over. Every few times I throw short and same happens. Hammer down.

What was the wind like? Did you have a cross wind ?
