anyone else pulled the dumb stunt of loosing your portable ballast pump over the side

Just trying to make myself feel better about this.

At the end of last season I purchased the elevate turbo ballast pump from wakemakers to replace the worn out POS that i have had for 5 years.(I felt like i had earned it)

I went out yesterday to surf and when I was filling the front bow sack I tossed over the pump, connected it the bag, and plugged it in, turned around to open the valves to start filling the back sac and when I looked up she was gone!! I was so irritated with myself. I typically wrap the cord around the handle; I was just so excited to be on the lake that this time I did not.

Turned out to be a decent surfing day after we pilled everything we could up front but it wasn’t as good as actually having the extra bags.

wakemakers needs an extra "oopsy discount code" for replacement parts.

If the 05 210 didnt have the worthless ice chest up front I would just intergrate the front sac.

I haven't done that but had a few close calls where the cig lighter stayed attached and I caught it in time.

Do a search on here, there are a few threads on cutting out that useless cooler so you can use the integrated sac. Pretty much grab a roto-zip and go to town.

i have searched cutting out the ice chest a couple of times. I have even PM'd some folks but no one seems to remeber or have pics of what it looks like after. I am concerned there is no carpet under the ice chest or on the walls. I dont intend at the moment to keep the boat for more than another 3 years, so i want it to look right when i go to sell it.

I have one of the sumo pumps for a sumo seat sac I "used" to have. Didn't lose the pump but I lost the fitting on the end that I need to make the pump actually useful for sumo sacs. I guess I lost the hose clamp that was on there and I didn't realize it until I was done filling the last time I used it and after unhooking it I hung the hose over the side and shook the water out of it only to shake the fitting right into the lake. No problem though, after my surf set my son got out there for a set and while I was switching weight to the other side when he decided to try getting up goofy instead I had set the sack on the rear deck and a roller caused it to roll right on in. You would think it would stay at the surface long enough to grab it but you would be wrong. I still keep the pump around with some extra fly high fittings just in case one of my ballast puppies decides to crap out on me so I still have a way to make adjustments or empty before trailering. The only other useful thing I have lost in the lake was my Obrien handle bag, wish I still had that it was super handy for traveling and going to competitions and nobody makes anything like it any more.
