IntLeauge Wakeboard Competitions - Good place to start?

I was searching for wakeboard competitions for my son to start doing that are not to far from SE Michigan. Searching on line I found a link to the IntLeague. Does anyone know anything about these events.

My son just turned 11 and has been wakeboarding for a couple of years and just loves it and has been asking me to get him into some competitions. Looking at the trick list he can do everything on the Entro Trick List and some of the items on the Novice list.

Any advice on getting started with competitions would be appreciated.

I used to compete in the New England branch of the INT back in the day and they were well run tournaments. Very family friendly and there is a division for everybody. It helped push me to become a better and more consistent rider. The reason I stopped doing them is because it can be a long day of waiting around watching others ride and then you only get to ride for 3 minutes. As I got older and my weekends became more precious it was an easy decision for me to spend the day on the boat instead of at a tournament. But I am glad I did them and I think it's worth checking out.

Yep, exactly what Shawn said. They are a good way to meet others who are into the sport and progress your riding with the competition. But, it is a day of waiting around and riding for 5 minutes. I would say to go enter and see if its what he/the family wants to get into.

Int is good. Above mentioned reasons. I would also recommend the wwa nationals. Nautique event. Pros there making appearances and riding. Vendors and displays set up. Only trouble would be travel if you are not nearby. It was in the Midwest for a while but now has moved to Texas.
