    230 & G23 Surf Storage

    Hey all,
I am doing some research on getting a new boat, currently not a Nautique owner, but it is on the very short list.
Originally I was thinking of the G21 as we currently have a 21' (2013 Tige Z1) but didn't care for it. My wife agrees that if we are going to trade boats, we need to trade up to a 23'. With our current boat, we have minimal storage as ballast takes up the entire bow area and we upgraded to Enzo style bags for the rear which now eat up underseat storage, however we do have the surf pockets on our bimini and use the heck out of them as we mostly surf. Not a fan of putting the surf boards in the racks.

I am wondering where everyone stores their surfboards. We usually go out with 2-3 wakeboards (depending on the group) and 4 or so surf boards.

So, looking to the Nautique line, there is storage aplenty in the G23, that is more than obvious and I understand there is room for boards in the rear lockers. On the 230, there looks to be alot of storage, but nothing large enough for surfboards when the ballast is full. What does everyone do with their boards. Storage is a concern for us...as you can tell. Yeah, yeah, yeah I know....get the G23, as it does everything, I have heard that the 230 surfs better and I don't know if the extra $30K + it would be worth it.

We really like the Z5 rack other than the fact that I have to duck under it since it is mounted lower than the standard bimini.

Any feedback is greatly appreciated...maybe some day I will own a Nautique as well, but for now I appreciate being welcomed into your "community".

I have the G23 with the z5, which I don't really need but use still sometimes. I can store 5 surf boards (Hyperlite, Ronix, Inland, LF-skim and Grind) and one wake board in the jump seat storage. The other five wakeboards fit in the starboard and port storage. We pull what we are going to use out of the lockers so they are readily available when we want them for what sets we are going to be doing. It would be too big of a pain to get the surfs out of the jump seat storage every time we wanted to use them, so they are in the racks and on the z5 when we are surfing. We also made extra straps to put surf boards on the z5. I had one fly off once and don't want that to happen again. The wakeboards are easy to get out.

I got the 230 and surf is amazing!!! I have the z5 Bimini as well so 2 surf boards and wakeboard go up there and 4 boards in racks, I love it, but I'm actually prob gna sell it, it's a 2014 SAN 230. I want the G23 for more room and better wakeboard wake. Surf wake is so awesome on both sides with the NSS. I only got 110 hrs on it, every option available is on the boat! I can save ya another 10-15 g if u want mine!
