2014 210 with surf pipe with hydro gate?

I just saw a picture of my new 210 with a surf pipe and was wondering if the hydro can still be used? It looks very close together and wondering if the hydro gate will still be functional or does it get in the way? I can't imagine nautiques would have designed it so the gate is not functional? Really hoping I did not just waste my money on the surf pipe?

i have the factory surf pipe on my 210. You may have been looking at my pictures. The pipe clears the gate by 3/8 inch and is fully functional. BUT
The pipe throw a monster rooster tail at any wakeboard speeds below 21 mph. I am going to take some pics next time i can get out. I had ballast half full and pulling my 10year old daughter on a 60 foot line (so she could go wake to wake) and the water was landing on her and you could not even see her behind the boat.

Do you find there is more drag with the surf pipe? It sounds like it is going to suck a ton of gas? Maybe not the best idea to have ordered it?

Don't regret the surf pipe. I am so glad I got it on my 230 this year. Hydro gate works just fine with it as well. Rooster tail is the only drawback but outside of that I'm pretty happy with it. Surf behind a boat with the surf pipe and then surf behind a boat without a surf pipe and you'll know what I mean. World of difference.
