SAN 230 wake vs. Malibu LSV 23

We have a 2004 SANTE 210 and my wife and I are kicking around the idea of upgrading to a 23 ft boat next season. We either ride behind our 210 or my buddies 2012 malibu LSV 23. Needless to say the 'bu wake is wider, rampier and has bigger sweet spots than the 210. Even totally sacked out and with the wedge down my wife can stomp wake to wakes with grabs 65 ft. behind the 'bu. Behind the 210 she's much more intimidated because the landing sweet spot is so small and the make has so much more vert. This leads to more violent crashes and an unhappy woman.

My predicament is if my budget is 60K, I can either step into a 2008-2009 SAN 230 or a 2011-2012 LSV 23. Obviously this is a nautique site and most everyone on here is partial to the build quality of nautique including me but my wife and I do love that LSV wake. How does the 230 wake compare?

How about some 230 wake pics with your ballast setup?

You have the old style hull that is known for its ramps. A 230 of any year will be heads and tails different over the classic 210 hull. Can't speak much on the Malibu other then it's a good boat either way you will be happy with either, but your resale will suffer as u already can see with the prices you stated. I RZR ride with the ex VP of sale for Malibu, went to Tigè now at Skier Choice and Malibu is still his favorite boat (SSSSHHHH don't tell his current employer.)

Do you need more room? the newer 210 hull is supposed to have a rampier wake and be more forgiving. Might be worth a look too. You could probably get a 2011-2012 210 for $60.

The old 210 wake is not for everybody. Your technique has to be good to profit for the vert wake.
The 230 wake is much more forgiven. Can be good at a lower speed, is less sensitive but has way more energy in it than the old skool 210.
Try the 230 on a demo!
But buy the boat which your wife like!! Even if it is a Malibu ;-) .

I finally got a chance to ride a 230 wake. WOW! It's basically the 210 wake + the LSV wake. Firm, wide but with a lip at the ramp to BOOT the rider. Loved it.

Now on the hunt for a 2008-2010 230.

Actually rode the 230 today! It still has a good lip/boot that you don't get on a lot of other boats, it's addicting! Surf wake is great both sides, besides the g23 don't think there's a better 23 in the market personally.

The 2007 236 is basically the same boat. Will open up your options when shopping.

If you do your own maintenance the 230 is sooooo much easier to access critical areas.

The 07 236 air is same boat as the 230, just different prop and analog gauges no fancy 7" screen or zero off, still runs off of perfect pass. I love my boat!

Impellers are easy to change, ballast pumps are easy to access to.

If you get a 230, order two jumbo v-drive sack from wakemakers, remove the stern hard tanks. Takes three button pushes to get one side filled for surf (7.5 minutes to fill full roughly if I remember correctly). For a massive wakeboard wake, add arrow sack in ski locker, and bow sack in the front. Fill stern sacks to 550-600lbs each side of the engine, takes a while to plane put but well worth it
