2014 SAN 230 Stock Surf Question

Does anybody have a 2014 230 that they have been able to fill with standard pro ballast settings 2100 pounds and set their NSS any where from 0-5 with speeds from 10.5-11.5 and find a good sweet spot and get enough push from the wave?

We have been working on dialing our boat in and still tend to fall out the back or cannot get the sweat spot on the wave? Most people I have seen have added a few extra pounds with extra bags in rear or swapped some out. I really do not want to add fat sacs outside the seats, I would rather plumb a bigger bag than the 400lb in the rear lockers if needed. If so what size have you found to be the best replacement bag in the rear? Or has anyone found a better standard stock setup with not filling all bags to full, ex: filling port side 1/2 and belly to 3/4?

Thanks for for any help, we surf in the ocean so this has been a little different. I just wanted to get some points of view before we swapped any bags out?

Does the pro ballast have any additional bow weight? We have a 210 with just 400 bags plumbed in and it surfs great. We do need extra bow weight though. We use human ballast for this. We also lighten up the non surf side when surfing starboard. NSS is set to 0 and we run about 10.5 with the hydrogate pulled all the way back.

Thanks, no we currently have the regular standard bow weight. That was my other remark, I am typically surfing with by myself and then 1-2 people in boat so it has minimal extra people weight. I was going to load it with a couple people to check the change in surf. Also am 6'6" and 230 pounds, so I wanted to make sure it was not me or the board that I might need to change. I"ll try this first.

how much do you lighten the non surf side 2? Is it percentage in ballast weight or people changing sides?

With only 1-2 people in the boat I would either swap out your 400lb sacks in the rear lockers with 750 lbs in each corner or if you throw an 800 lb fat sack in the middle it'll be like you have 5-6 people in the boat and the wave will be double the size at least. (sounds like you dont want to do this option). I had my 400lb sacks swapped out for 750s and it's awesome! Definitely the way to go if you don't typically have a lot of people in the boat.

I think the bow weight is equally as important as extra weight. We can run the same rear weight with stock bow weight or an added 300 pounds to the bow and the difference is amazing. It's pretty washed with no extra bow weight. Add the weight and it's great.

If it's just my wife and I we will fill all stock tanks and just the 400 pound sac on the surf side. If we have a boat full, we fill it all and use human ballast for the slight list. You don't need or want much at all.
