    10 year anniversary. Our 2004 216TE

Well this summer is our 10 year anniversary of owning our 216TE. This afternoon when i was cleaning her up I got all nostalgic. What a great boat its been. We've gone from partying hard and boarding/skiing till we were exhausted (pre kids) to towing kids in tubes and swimming in coves. This thing has done it all with and come back for more.
When I bought this thing, I really couldn't afford it but I just HAD to have it, it didnt take long to realize it was worth the sacrifices, it became an indispensable part of the family.

Here she is: I hope you guys don't mind:
Shes still looks pretty darn good for he age. A lot of it is my attention to upkeep, a lot of it is the high quality of the boat itself.

Very nice! It's depressing to see how some of these boats get abused. It's really nice to see a thread like this that demonstrates how well they hold up if cared for properly. Nice work!

I always liked the 216 after when they first came out and I first sat in one at a boat show. Very nice.
If its not a competition ski boat, its always second best.

                          10 year anniversary. Our 2004 216TE

Thank you all! Unfortunately this summer has epitomized the phrase "Sh!!t happens"
My in-laws just sold their lake property, which was the main place we took out the boat. Also the wife and I have decided to stop messing around and really get serious about moving into a new house. Those two big factors together have made us come to the conclusion that we need to sell the boat.....
We just can't make the DTI requirements for a home loan with the boat. And I better sell it while it's still pristine and has value.

So we will be boatless for a year or two, depending on how long it takes to make our new house purchase. It sucks but we'll be better off in the long run. This WONT be our last boat.

We'll this boat only has 210 hours. We had a few lean years where we didn't get out much. Then we didn't take it out a whole lot the two years after my daughter was born. That kept a lot of hours off it.

                              UPDATE!
How things change,,,,Dragging up an old thread with an update. I have had my boat in dry storage since the end of July of 2014. I had gone by the storage a handful of times to check on her, to dust her off and I've fogged the cylinders 3 or 4 times. I've also changed a broken ballast tank pump. But pretty much, she's just been put up.

I've had it up for sale the whole time but I've had it priced at $34K and adjusted to $32K over time. I've had a lot of interest in the boat but I've held firm on my asking price. People have just been trying to get me to come down to under $30k but I wouldn't budge. In the mean time, I kept finding ways to delay a new home purchase..mostly by fixing up our current home...so I never would agree to go down on my selling price. I've just held firm. I was never really very motivated to sell and In my mind, If I was going to sell my boat, I was not going to give it away. I ended up telling more than a few persistent people to stop bugging me and to go look at boats they could afford cause I won't budge.

So here we are, two years later and I've done enough to our current home to convince the wife to stay put. That means the boat no longer "has" to be sold.

I got her out of the storage unit, changed the oil and filter, the impeller and filled her with new gas, Put in a new battery, fogged her one more time for good measure and she started right up and purred like a kitten. The long dry storage took some years off her cosmetically and I've still got to take some extra time to really get her cleaned back up and really detailed

It was a long hiatus but I've rekindled the fire and we have got her out a few times this summer. We had a blast on it.

We are nearing the end of our loan term so It's almost paid off anyway and if we were to sell it, if we're totally honest with ourselves, we'd never buy another boat, no matter how good my intentions are. SO oven though we only got it out a few times this year, it sure was nice and we only had one hiccup but got it sorted.

Anyway. I'm glad I no longer "have" to sell her and I'm glad to have her back on the water. Next year will see a lot more usage!!
