    99 San questions

Well this is the first year to really use our boat and I've got a few questions.
First, we tried surfing but could never get the push we needed. I do not have the ballast in the boat yet but thought we could still surf. I did fill the belly tank and had everyone sit on starboard side. We were riding at 10.5 mph using a old 08 hyperlite broadcast. Seemed if we went faster, the size of the wave decreased a good bit and started washing out.
Second, Will someone with the same boat snap me a couple of pictures of how the engine dividers are held in place.
Third, Is there anyway to find out which prop I have without removing it? Thx

The prop info is stamped on the hub of the prop, but it's on the backside of the prop if your standing at rear of boat looking at it. You'll have to crawl underneath and take a look

750's fit just fine. I put a thick life jacket at the back of the compartment to cover the 4 bolts sticking out. Starboard side has the stupid Hyd cylinder in the way so I'm not able to completely fill the 750

Our starboard surf is pretty easy to get on my '00 SAN. 750 beside engine, 400 on seat right behind driver, 600 inside ski locker. One person usually on the back deck of the boat. That gives a really high & strong wave. Put some people in the bow to lengthen the wave a bit

Wow thanks for the tips. I'll try and find some thick rubber for those bolts. I have a hatch actuator but it's not currently in the boat. I've been lifting by hand. What pump do u use to fill the seat sac? Seems like a quick disconnect would be the way to go.

I'm still using tsunami pumps for bags. About to properly plumb in everything with a ballast puppy pump. Check out wakemakers.com

We surf both sides with the boat speed at 9.8. 750 in surf side locker, 650 in ski locker, 400 in bow. Have ppl sit on surf side.

I will try to snap some pics of how the dividers go in this weekend but let me try to walk you through it based on memory. The two boards that have cargo nets on them are for the port side. The larger one goes on the bottom. Stick the straight vertical edge into the aluminum frame by the back rest of the seat. Then stick the straight vertical edge of the top piece into the same frame by the back of the seat and push the length of the board down into the slots on the top of the bottom piece. Then swing them towards the motor so they are straight. Then there should be an L bracket towards the back that you screw into the floor. Pretty much the same on the starboard side but it's tough if the hatch actuator is in place. It's easier to pull the back rest off and slide it from the lounge into the storage area as opposed to going through the top of the locker. The blower hose should go into the hole at the back so it is sucking fumes from under the motor/bilge.

The 750s fit but you can't quite fill the starboard one all of the way because of the hatch actuator, but it's pretty close to full. The battery box isn't really an issue.

Some prop manufacturers will also stamp the prop #s on the side between two of the blades. you might need to rotate it to find it. If it's not there you will need to take off the castle nut to see it.

I have modified my dividers pretty extensively. And I have replaced the actuator in the starboard locker with shocks. But here are a few pics that depict how the dividers bolt in and the room created by removing the actuator. A 750 lb. sac fits in there easily with the actuator gone. The bolts at the back of the lockers are covered with 5/16" rubber vacuum caps.

From Seadek through Zach at N3Boatworks. I did a full write-up here: http://www.planetnautique.com/vb3/sh...ll-on-1999-SAN. The pattern should generally fit your boat fine, but none of the floors from that era are exactly the same so order the mylar dry fits first to check and make what modifications you'll need for perfect fit on YOUR floor.

If you're really serious about doing it, you'll need to remove all of the carpet before comparing the dry fits because the carpet hides a ton of imperfections in the floor pieces and fills all the gaps between pieces. I was shocked to see how crooked the curve on my ski locker lid was without the carpet. It looked like the guy who cut it did so by hand and was totally wasted at the time. I had to add material to all of the edges of the lid and the main floor panel to make them fit properly and look right. I also had to make an entirely new subfloor for the bow aisle because the original subfloor was a hot mess.

BUT...it has been THE best mod I've done on my boat so far and it's not close.
