Wake the World Texas Needs Your Help!

Hello Nautique Nation!

This is my first post and I'll be up front with you...I bleed MasterCraft through and through but I need your help!

I've been involved with Wake the World for the last few years and I can tell you it's truly an awesome event. If you're not familiar with WtW, this, our 5th annual day on the water, would consist of volunteering your time, talents, and boat to give some outstanding kids on opportunity that they otherwise would never have. The day begins around 7-8am and concludes around 6pm. Meals are provided for all volunteers. This year's event will be on Monday, July 21st at Canyon Lake (between Austin and San Antonio).

As of today, we have 14 boats signed up and could really use another 3-5. If you're interested, please reply to this post or send me a direct message so I can get in touch with you. Feel free to share the word with your boater friends.

Are all of your events during the week or do you host any on weekend days? I have told my wife I want to do this event, but will make it difficult if they are only on week days as we both work.

I can only speak to the WtW Texas event and that we always hold it on a Monday due to the availability at the Canyon Lake Yacht Club. I'm not sure about the other events because this is the only one in which I am involved.

Good deal, thanks for the info. We may check into the Lake Tyler event for next year. Sounds like a great event and a great cause.

For anyone on the fence about doing this.... Jump ASAP! It'd be one of the best things you could ever be involved in. Bring the whole family... Kids included. You and yours will get more out of it than the guest kids ever will. Type of thing you take the day off work or call in sick for. You get to host a few kids for a day, kids that would never get an opportunity to do this stuff.... Show them our boating lifestyle and the fun it brings....and perhaps mentor the kids some... Work hard play hard, stay out of trouble, do your best in school and sports etc etc.

If I were still in Oklahoma, I would tow down for this. It's that great of an event to be involved in. I will be at the northern NC events throughout the rest of the summer.

We will be needing a few more boats for the WTW event on Kerr Lake on the NC / VA border on July 21st. Also there are a couple more events in the works for Lake Gaston and Smith Mountain Lake.

I might be able to do the Kerr Lake event. We'll be there that week. Let me check with my wife to make sure we don't have anything already planned.

I just participated in the inaugural Georgia WTW event on Lanier. I had two young men on my boat plus my family and by the end of the day one of the young men said it was the "best day of his life". The other young man had been at the boys home going on 8 months and when he was on the tube you could not get the smile off his face!!! What a great organization to be a part of. I will also say that it really makes you look at the community you live in, and realize the support that organizations like WTW need.

I wish there was an event close to Boise... I would easily volunteer. My work gives us 8 hrs to volunteer each qtr. This would fall under that category. I love taking people out on the water that otherwise couldn't go and just enjoy the smile on their face all day.

Will be out of the country on Monday or we would come. Been wanting to take the kiddo to SeaWorld anyhow. What a great event WtW is. Hopefully catch you next year.
