2005 A206 Top Speed ???

I have just purchased a new A206 with the Excalubur 5.7 L and standard prop.

The boat only manages to reach a 39 MPH top speed on relatively smooth water (only 1 passenger).

Is this normal ? I thought that the boat could reach approx. 45 MPH.

Are you sure the speedo is calibrated properly? What's your elevation?

I am at sea level using readings from perfect pass.

Verify speed with a gps or use a course to calibrate your speedo's. Drive through the course timing between the first and last boat guide (the red ones, not the green set up bouys). Divide 580 by your time and that's your speed.

Just one more tidbit... Boats usually run slower in smoother water.
