Hour meter while floating ?

Had a question does anyone know does the hour meter run when your stereo is turned on and say you are just floating ? Or does your ignition have to be turned and the motor running for the hour meter to run ? If it matters I have a 2009 SANTE 230.

Well, i should only count when the engine is running.. your Service intervals are based on that number.

on my 2 Nautiques it only counted the engine hours. I would assume yours is the same.

On the older keyed boats if you turned the key to the right to the run position with engine off it would add hours even with the engine off. If listening to the stereo or using accessories you want to turn the key to left so that hours are not added. I imagine all of the new ones with keypads only count when the engine is running.

On your keypad, if both lights on either side of the Start button are on, you're counting hours. If just the right light is on, you're fine.
