    NSS RetroFit

Is there really no option to add a system like this to a 2002 SAN? Seems like an engineer could make something pretty easy so we could all add it to our older boats, motorized or not, you could just reach under there and slide it over to lock it in.

Anyone seen anything not completely ghetto made?

If not, who is in? I'm going to find an engineer to start making these.

There are tons of homebrew projects:

Including this one that I am working on for a 2002 SAN (scroll down):

Might want to check on the patent rights before selling something like this. I'd love to have one for my 2010 and might build one but when you go from home build to selling them things change in what you can get away with.

I don't believe there us anybody selling anything related to nss retrofits, just boat owners being creative with their own boats.

I'll chime in....I've done a few custom builds, for those that want closer to OEM and more tune-able .

This is my personal boat, one of the first ones I did. All the ones I do are powder coated aluminum, machine cut slots, 2 plate design.

Sweet, Lenco 101 series? Would you mind posting a picture of the back side? IE do those 12 bolts go through the transom or are they screwed into a threaded insert?

I don't have any back side pics, sorry these were installed and out the door in a couple days. I'll post what I do have.

Building the plates is just half of it...the install is the rest. I move the platform up nearly 2.75" Repitch the platform brackets, add backing plates, move the platform out a 1", and cope the plates to the boat with aluminum instead of plastic. This equates to a lot of know how, some TIG welding, and TLC.

Agree with hotrod508, making the mechanism is the quick and easy part. Fitting to the boat, pain in the ***. I too had to move the platform out, remove ballast tanks, run wires etc. then there is the infill pieces to contour to the hull....

I custom make them in my shop. So yes. It's a built and installed deal. I don't ship out a universal product.
